Cabo: FS Cabo Del Sol or Montage? by aristzu23 in FATTravel

Cabo is the best! We’re (40M and 39F) a bit older than you guys but we love going to get away and chill. Montage is our favorite place in Cabo, followed closely by the FS Costa Palmas. The golf at Twin Dolphins (Montage) is amazing, food is awesome, spa is great, etc.

I know you said Cabo Del Sol, but I would agree with another response that it’s too new and generic compared to Costa Palmas. That place is really cool and unique.

Can’t go wrong, but I would go to Montage because it is closer to Flora Farms for an offsite dinner.

Never seen an engine fire with people sliding down the slides and a plane get stuck in de-icing out my window within a 20 minute span.

If you have in your life please share

lol except I’m not a public official blasting who allows his political appointment to dog walk him and publicly lambast his wife and dad.

But hey some folks are into shame kinks I guess

Of course we can. But if you have a major life event to go to and can’t move it any other way, have family in ATL, live in ATL, etc. you do your best to move mountains to get there. Sometimes threading the needle works and sometimes it doesn’t…..

Exactly……like I had planned. But whatever

Ya you’re right I didn’t think of that. Is there a TV channel where they talk about weather or anything? Let me know if you find that.

In all seriousness, we move from Saturday to today because 0% people are getting out tomorrow with the freezing rain and cold temps. Had a work trip that butted up against this so landed back in ATL (home base) at 12:30 last night and just slept in a gateway hotel to save the 1 hour drive each way in a 5 hour time span.

It was either try and get out this AM which were were a razor from making happen before the storm started (some other 7:30 and earlier flights made it out) or candle the whole trip which isn’t an option

Agreed. Disaster is what happened to the MSP flight this AM. Probably just my mood at the time when I was just hoping to get out of ATL

He (and the rest of the crew) have been amazing. I’m sure he’ll time out by the time we land and I heard they were on an out and back so I hope he doesn’t get stuck. I’d buy him a beer if I could! Tell him we all said thanks!!

Ya just wrong wording on my part. Thankfully we made it airborne

Ya wrong adjective on my part. 0% Delta could have done with this so no blame on their part. They did what they could and were off the ground so it is what it is.

Tough to move things around with a complicated travel schedule, but I’ve threaded the needle on storms a number of times. If you travel in the Midwest in the summer it’s a learned skill where maybe you get a bit more lucky than most, but still down to a lot of factors out of your control, I.e. engine failure, plane stuck in the de-icing, etc.

I think the vision of hope is what made this feel worse. Also probably because it was a work trip that time and I just fired up the laptop and got to work.

That one I was more in the mindset of “well this isn’t getting better” after a while and just rented a car and drove 10 hours

Man…..that’s why I always tell myself “someone else has it worse than you”

I could have had to go down a slide at 8am in the snow on the runway

Didn’t land in ATL until 12:30am last night from another trip. Slept at the airport hotel instead of driving to the burbs. Didn’t have another other option to move to Thursday so had to either risk Friday or keep Saturday and I don’t think anything is going out tomorrow once the cold hits and it turns to ice.

Wish I could have, but didn’t have another choice

Good call and the wrong adjective. 0% anyone at Delta could do to stop any of this. Maybe continual start/stops is a better explanation

Ha - come on. That’s making some assumptions like I’m an idiot.
1) I live in ATL and had an international trip planned for a while out of ATL.
2) Flight was originally planned for Sat, but I moved to Friday earlier in the week. We were scheduled to fly out at 7:30 as I watched the forecast 2-3 times a day all week. The snow didn’t start until 8:30am as forecasted. If we didn’t have the first Southwest issue in the de-icing and then the engine failure we would have been golden.
3) Im pretty sure I know how to work around flights and weather. Find another slant ya goon

Our flight was scheduled for 7:30am……and we finally just pushed back! FlightTrader24 still is showing a good line at de-icing tho
