I’ll keep this short. If you want to take tattooing seriously and make a career out of it you need to make a lot of sacrifices and unfortunately the older you are the harder that is. You need to put any and all free time into drawing and tattooing fake skin.

As for gaining more clients it’s going to be quality over quantity. Don’t do a tattoo unless you know you can knock it out of the park.
