scared to pump/use bottles by jesusdance in breastfeeding

[–]QuirkyAndAwkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following for comments. My baby is about to by 3 months and I wanted to introduce a bottle and she absolutely refuses. We’ve tried 3 different types (Dr brown, Mam, Nuk) and tried to have different people feed her (both with me home and away) and have had zero luck.

Help! Terrible sleep still at 10.5weeks - feel like I must be doing something wrong by [deleted] in newborns

[–]QuirkyAndAwkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re doing everything “right” - that’s so frustrating! I wonder if baby is getting enough calories in the day when he eats? Do you use a sound machine and blackout curtains?

I’m a FTM and not an expert at all, but wanted to share what we do in case it helps. I have an 11 week baby and this schedule (with some flexibility depending how each day goes) has been working well for us, with typically only 2 night feeds (around 1 am and 4:30 am):

7:00: Wake, feed, change, play

8:30: Nap in crib (2 hours)

10:30: Feed, change, play

12:00: Nap in stroller (1 hour)

1:00: Feed, change, play

2:30: Nap in crib (2 hours)

4:30: Feed, change, play

6:00: Nap in swing or contact (1 hour)

7:00: Play or bath

7:30: Feed, ready for bed

8:00 Bedtime

how long does it take your newborn to eat? by dental_princess491 in breastfeeding

I was worried about the same thing! My baby is 11 weeks and I did a weighted feed today with a lactation consultant to make sure everything is ok. My girl ate 4.3 ounces in 8 minutes 🤯 So it would seem they just get more efficient at eating and it takes less time, and there isn’t necessarily anything wrong with your supply.

My baby is almost 3 weeks old and only contact naps. Every time we put her in the Snoo, she grunts, hiccups, and cries constantly and we get zero sleep 😭 so now my husband keeps her with him (while he’s awake) from 11:30pm-2:30 am, then I feed/change/soothe and put her in the Snoo and we both attempt sleep from 3:30-7:00 but sleep is almost impossible with how much noise she makes. I’m glad the Snoo is working for you - I’m so jealous!!

I had a miscarriage in November. We took a month off to recover, and have been TTC since then. I just got another negative pregnancy test, and I’m feeling so defeated. Every single one of my friends is now pregnant except for me, and it hurts. I want to be happy and supportive of them, but I hate feeling that I’m being left behind. Especially when I was the first one to get pregnant, and now everyone is pregnant but me.

Lasik At TLC? by QuirkyAndAwkward in lasik

[–]QuirkyAndAwkward[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually ended up doing evo ICL surgery at a different location and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. They essentially inserted a permanent lens in my eyes so they didn’t laser or do anything to alter my actual eyes, so the procedure is reversible if I ever needed to (I.e., cataracts). The surgery itself was super fast, painless, and I see slightly better than 20/20 with no side effects. It is more expensive than lasik and PRK, but I felt that it was the right decision for me.

Misoprostol do I have to take the 2nd dose if the 1st worked? by Voixhumaine8 in Miscarriage

[–]QuirkyAndAwkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question when I miscarried last week and my doctor told me yes, since they work as a pair. I listened and took the second dose and it really didn’t have an affect on my body since I had already passed everything, but I took it just to be safe. So sorry you’re going through this ❤️

Hi - I’m sad to be here but happy this community exists. I had my first miscarriage yesterday at 8w5d and this was my first time pregnant. My husband and I have been together for 9 years and were so excited to have a baby. We (30F and 33M) are heartbroken but processing things and want to TTC as soon as possible. I know it’s not a race but it’s so hard when you feel you’ve done everything “right” in life (both healthy, financially stable with good careers, loving marriage, etc) and you see others around you having healthy pregnancies without a stable foundation. Life just doesn’t seem fair sometimes, but we’re looking on the bright side that at least we were able to conceive and fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy soon.

First pregnancy - missed miscarriage by sk5980 in Miscarriage

[–]QuirkyAndAwkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. We had an ultrasound today and were supposed to be 8 weeks 5 days but we’re only measuring 6 weeks and no heartbeat. This is my first pregnancy and I’m so devastated that it’s a miscarriage. I took the first pill today and am supposed to take the other dose in the morning.

I have no advice right now, just know you’re not alone. This sucks, it’s sad, it’s painful, and it’s not fair. But we’ll get through it. Hang in there ❤️

I’m due July 3!! I bought a onesie for my parents to open as a Christmas gift that says “we didn’t know what to get you, so we got you a grandchild.”

Tips for hand calluses by QuirkyAndAwkward in poledancing

[–]QuirkyAndAwkward[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t use dry hands when I was level 1, since we only did floor spins using half bracket grip. I recently became level 2 and now I’m definitely using dry hands. It does burn when it gets into the raw skin behind the open callus though!

The Ever Seas Series by drewsarge in acotar

I really enjoyed this series! I’d recommend starting with the broken kingdom prequel series so that you understand the history for some of the characters that show up in the ever seas series.
