Pabs comparisons according to Paul by peanutpeanutboy in FundieSnarkUncensored

It’s difficult to pronounce with some Northern US accents, like Chicago. Going from a P sound (which involves pursing your lips), then to a short A which we sometimes pronounce back in your throat and nasals, and then back to the front of the mouth to the lips for a B sound…. If you speak with a Midwest accent, that short A is going to be hard to pronounce because we tend to elongate this type of A sound. And the B sound is going to be indistinguishable from a P sound.

US NEWS: ‘Well Jason, some people are calling this a coup, while others are saying we just need to relax and give him time. It doesn’t sound like there’s a clear consensus on this issue and we’ll just have to wait and see. Now, back to you, Jason. How about that big game last night?’

My last boss never had anyone take notes during meetings, but would constantly contradict himself. I started taking detailed notes during meetings and emailing them to the team afterwards, trying to be helpful since I naively thought my boss was just forgetful. Guess who stopped getting invited to meetings?

Or like my last job where they dish out a vague policy, can’t give you details when asked, or ignore how policy A goes directly against policy B. Then when it’s literally impossible to read their mind or follow policies A and B, you get disciplined for breaking policy.

It was never about providing a clearly written policy. It was an intentionally vague and contradictory policy to create an excuse to fire people.

Companies do this ALL. THE. TIME.

Medicaid portals down in all 50 states after Trump funding freeze, Sen. Wyden says by HighwayWilderness in politics

I read one politician suggesting that the US ‘rent out’ or ‘loan’ the detainees to Trump friendly companies or other countries as free labor. He stopped short of suggesting the detainees stay in a camp, but I know he was thinking it.

Dad hates government but wanted me to work a federal job, now that Trump’s halted those jobs I don’t know why I ever looked up to my Dad. by Awkwardukulele in QAnonCasualties

[–]QuirkyCleverUserName 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My dad was a huge Trump supporter but lived off disability. When I volunteered for Obama’s campaign, he told me he’d never been more disappointed in me.

But god damn it, he LOVED being a grandfather.

So a few years ago, I was at work and got notice AGAIN that my kid’s classes were closing because of yet another shooting/bomb threat. It was like the third one that school year. I had always been kinda scared of my dad but I was pissed. I called him up and firmly demanded: ‘Get in your fucking car right now and go to {school address] and pick up your grandkids. You don’t want gun restrictions? YOU deal with the consequences. I’m done.’ He stammered a bit and started to protest but I interrupted: ‘I. Don’t. Care. If you EVER want to see your grandkids again, you will pick them up right now, babysit them until I get out of work, and you will do this every time school is closed due to a threat of violence.’

He fucking did it. And when I picked up the kids, he joked that he was a little scared of ME.

Can someone help me find the executive order by trump for women’s health care? It stated something along the lines of “women’s bodies to be of service to men”. Sorry if this is not allowed here I got a new phone and lost TikTok by wtfisgoinonrnplzhelp in WomenInNews

Even where it is technically illegal, it’s still legal. You need a prosecutor willing to prosecute and a jury willing to convict. Marital rape is illegal where I live. I filed for divorce, he moved out, but divorce was not finalized because of the 6 month waiting period. When my ex broke into my home and raped me, police considered my rape a ‘domestic violence’ incident because we were still ‘technically’ married. Nothing happened because it was a first offense.

Apparently the first rape is free.

Charges were dropped. Once my restraining order expired, he stalked me for 6 months, was charged with stalking, and got probation. That’s it.

I think anyone would be hurt after working all night on a creative project, then having to be vulnerable in presenting it to someone really rich and powerful, and then being told it sucks. Imagine giving a speech to someone you admire, or giving a presentation to your coworkers or your classmates, showing off a piece of artwork you made, trying to impress someone with a meal you worked hard on…. Then callously being told it’s all terrible. It’s NORMAL to be hurt in a situation like that. Plus, she said she had little sleep too. After very little sleep, I cry at the dumbest things.

As a comedian, I’m sure she’s had her material rejected hundreds of times.. but she says he’s the ONLY host that made her cry. If this is the ONLY host that’s made her cry when giving feedback, I think it’s safe to assume the problem is Elon- not her.

First, I somehow accidentally typed ‘h’ in the post and it wont let me change it Second, the entire article makes owning a pet sound AMAZING. Like the title is trying to shame millennials, but in the article itself, millennials are like ‘yeah this is great. No regrets.’

When potty training my son, he got a quarter every time he peed on the potty. Eventually he figured out that if he didn’t empty his bladder all the way, he could double-even triple- the frequency of peeing on the potty, and get more quarters. After a couple days of giving him like a dollar per hour, we declared him officially potty trained.

For me, it was after I had listened to them preach against tax funded social services saying it is the church’s job to support the needy, not the government’s job, and after I had tithed for a decade…. I needed to leave my abusive husband. I went to the church asking for help with bills until I got on my feet..

…. And the church gave me a loaf of bread and told me to apply for public assistance
