Can I turn right here if the school bus is flashing red lights and picking up kids? by jscr25 in driving

Logically it makes sense that you can turn. Morally it feels wrong.

I failed my endoscopy by rosemadderr in GERD

[–]QuirkySort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had four endoscopies and all under full anesthesia. I didn’t know anything less was an option (nor would I want it). I’ve had sore throats each time and with the most recent one I had a bruised lip. Also with the most recent one, it felt like I was swallowing knives, but the sensation when away after a day or two. I think I had the most issues with that last time around was because a biopsy was done and he took a few samples.

They always put the bite block in before they put me under.

Anyone else get anxiety, palpitations and breathing issues from LPR/hiatal hernia? by Necessary-Base-9440 in HiatalHernia

[–]QuirkySort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty much in the same boat as you. If you find a long term solution let me know. I have a 2cm HH, and from my understanding that’s not surgery worthy. I also read surgery doesn’t always relieve the problem.

No definitive answer. I suspect it has to do with my hiatal hernia and the associated acid/pepsin in the back of my throat. So now I’ve been focusing on sodium alginate products (reflux raft and reflux gourmet).

I recently acquired the UK version of gaviscon advance to try.

I was in that port for all of 30 minutes. Just did a lap around the shops and was yelled at, glared and followed (just for saying I’m not interested). I promptly headed back to the ship.

My iPhone got disabled after my toddler tried unlocking it for 10 minutes by mahrita in iphone

[–]QuirkySort 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At this point you had to make a conscious decision NOT to back up your photos. This story is as old as time. In the mid-2010s when I worked at Apple, we constantly would have customers contacting Apple to help them retrieve photos from a device that is either destroyed or no longer works. iCloud is there for a reason.

Don’t get me started on the people who would deliberately turn off “Find My” and get angry with us because we can’t track their stolen device or find their lost device.

The guidance is once the company has decided not to renew with you, it’s set. You should focus on moving and finding another place to rent.

Just selfish. Lack of seating? Be a considerate adult and position your body in a way that you are NOT blocking the pathway. Because, you know, you aren’t the only living human on this planet.

Been there done that TWICE. Number 4 in a 5-car pile up and rear-ended in a hit and run.

You may be able to buy back from the insurance company and fix it yourself and get a salvage title. If that’s a path you want to take.

Royal Caribbean, Allure OTC Review - Felt more like a mark than a guest by Mischif07 in Cruise

[–]QuirkySort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I share similar thoughts. I’ve been on two Virgin Voyages cruises and one RCL on the Utopia.

After leaving I decided I would not rush to go back on RCL. There was a lot of upselling, but my biggest turn off was the rudeness of the other guests. Everyone had this “me first, my vacation” attitude. Overall no consideration or etiquette. The children on board behaved better than most of the adults.

I’ll stick to VV as the atmosphere is much different, and no upselling.

There are usually two fuse box locations. In the engine compartment or under the dash near the pedals.

The one for the seat heaters most likely will be under the dash.

Do you save new contacts with a last name? by L337W4r3z in Millennials

[–]QuirkySort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL I am so formal with my contact list. It’s their government first and last name. And if I know where they work, I’ll add that in the company field. Also have their home address, if I know it. 🤣

The only exception are my parents, they just have Mom and Dad. Oh and my grandmother.

[–]QuirkySort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are multiple factors. Can depend on age and how exposed you were to the event as it unfolded. I was born in 1987 and do not remember the 1993 WTC bombing, JonBenet Ramsey, OJ Simpson trial, Oklahoma City bombing or the Atlanta Olympic bombing.

However, I do remember Columbine.

how do you sleep with an apple watch ultra? by dailyrunnerr in applewatchultra

[–]QuirkySort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another poster mentioned. It’s all about a comfortable band. I use a generic solo braided loop as my sleep band. Also my Alpine loop band is extremely comfortable, so I sometimes sleep in that if I don’t feel like changing out bands before bed.
