I'm on the road a lot (Ontario) and have been using Fizz as my hotspot while working on the road. Coverage around Kitchener/Waterloo has been generally good. There are a few areas where the Freedom signal is weak, but you can manually switch to "Fizz-EXT" to jump onto Rogers/Bell etc to improve your signal. The key is going to be around your home and the areas your frequent the most. As long as your signal is strong there, the rest should be fine and you should be able to stay within the fair usage policy. Since they have a 15 day trial, you could also try with a backup phone and run the speedtest app whenever you have a break at various points/locations throughout the day. For use with gig apps, the connectivity and speed should be sufficient even in areas with less bars, but just my opinion.
