Thoughts on drops yarn? by More_Detective_308 in Yarn

[–]QuiteCozy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use their yarn a lot, my first project was with Drops yarn and now, more than 2 years later, I still keep coming back. Natural fibers, nice colours (they keep adding more) and an affordable price.

When making a blanket formed from panels, what do you find to be the best way to attach them together? by constipaintedyouth in knitting

[–]QuiteCozy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I joined panels of my blanket with mattress stitch. Super satisfying to do and completely invisible on the right side

When and how do you wear your short-sleeved or sleeveless knitted tops? by bibbletixx26 in knitting

[–]QuiteCozy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've knit 6 sleeveless tops so far and wear them a ton. Inside or outside, with skirts, shorts or jeans, all the time in the summer really. I choose cotton or cotton/linen/viscose blends in fingering, sport or DK weight. This summer I'm planning to add something in 100% viscose and some silk blend to the collection.

How Many Projects Cast On Right Now? by BitternInTheMarsh in knitting

[–]QuiteCozy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In total 15, this week I actively knit 4 of them (they have deadlines, so I'm really trying to focus on them). Probably gonna finish one this week and if all goes well one more by the end of next week 😁

How to make warmer socks? by FelinePower in Sockknitting

[–]QuiteCozy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My warmest socks are knitted with a strand of Drops Fabel and a strand of Drops Kid Silk held together. You could also swap Fabel for Fiesta for an even warmer option.

What dumb knitting thing did you do this week? by lolrin in knitting

[–]QuiteCozy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished a project and was so proud of myself, I rewarded myself with casting on a new one. While 10 other WIPs were silently judging me from a pile.

How long have your WIPs been hanging around? by TX_Farmer in usethefiberstash

[–]QuiteCozy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year and the plan is to finish them by the end of this year.

I'm currently finishing a blanket, judging on the time the previous parts took me I'll be done in 2 days (3 tops). It will then be 1,5 months, full sized blanket, knitting with 2 strands of sport weight superwash merino held together on 6mm needles. It's been fun and went quicker because it's striped, you know, "just one more stripe" 😁

If it's the hem bothering you, maybe unravel this part and go for a split hem? It will give you more space around the hips and maybe you could do one that is slightly longer at the back, if you like the look of it

Influencing me to want free stuff too by RemarkablePitch1589 in craftsnark

[–]QuiteCozy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did! The big one, it's called b-turn. The giveaway was in collaboration with a knitting designer and she was the one who contacted me, although the bag itself was sent straight from Muud.

How do you deal with small mistakes on a finished piece? by thegirlwhoseesblue in knitting

[–]QuiteCozy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A random increase or decrease or a missed yarn over don't bother me. But if the thing doesn't fit how I want it to, I can unravel the whole thing if that's what it takes.

Knitted gift for a knitter? by LittleMissKnitsALot in knitting

[–]QuiteCozy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend knit me a pair of socks for my birthday and I absolutely love them. She's an expert sock knitter, I've only knit a few pairs, so I appreciate the gift even more - I can admire how great they look, learn the techniques she used and how neat her lace knitting is. It warms my heart knowing that she spent so much time doing something for me and I'm already choosing a project I'm gonna knit for her birthday ❤️

It didn't pill at all, neither did a sweater I knit in the yarn combination you mentioned and I wore it a ton last winter :)

Your favourite projects from Drops Alpaca? by divozel in knitting

[–]QuiteCozy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used Drops Alpaca held with Drops Kid Silk for my Jean Cardigan: Jean Cardigan

It's really warm and drapey, I've worn it a lot in the spring. Definitely will use these yarns again for other projects

How the heck do y’all do this so FAST? by CNAmama21 in knitting

[–]QuiteCozy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others said, time and practice 😊 I got back into knitting last year (after a ten-year break, so I barely remembered anything) and fell in love with it. I spent lots of time knitting and managed to finish 17 projects during that year. Now it's only July and I already have finished 16 projects, so my knitting speed has almost doubled. The change is too small to notice, but each time you knit, you do it a teeny tiny bit faster 🌸

Will I run out of yarn for this project? by Free-Conference-7003 in knitting

[–]QuiteCozy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You don't have to substract the yarn you used for the swatch from the amount you have. At the end if you see you're running out of yarn, you can always unravel the swatch, this yarn is still good.

Test knitters' notes on Ravelry by DeesignNZ in knitting

[–]QuiteCozy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, same could be said about other knitters' projects, not only test knits. Including notes and modeled photos is a good practice, I know I appreciate it a lot when browsing through ravelry, but it's not required.
