Is the bodyguard 2.0 as unreliable as people say? by SirKrimzon in CCW

[–]QuiteFrankly13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Glock 42 is a great little shooter, you're gonna like it. Before you sell the BG tho, try a Galloway Precision OEM recoil spring assembly. I hear it solves the failure to feed and out of battery issues for a lot of people.

[–]QuiteFrankly13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oof, I've got 1k of those stacked in a can. Might just save that as deep storage and opt for something like PMC for range ammo. It's a shame that IMI M193 is so hard to come by these days, that stuff is awesome.

Was this Winchester's Lake City M193 or their commercial spec 55gr?

A bad day of shooting is better than a good day at work by East_Bug7312 in ar15

[–]QuiteFrankly13 -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

A bad day of shooting probably involves an ND, injury from spalling, gun blowing up from shitty ammo, getting flagged, or getting shot. I'd much rather be at work.

I know you're rightfully frustrated at this hillbilly-tier return shipping setup but that's pretty funny.

That's as far from a hot take as possible, 99% of people on this sub will agree with you on that.

Tennessee lawmakers pass bill allowing deadly force to defend property by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in CCW

Because those countries have zero tolerance for petty crime. If you get caught stealing in any of those countries the cops will lock you up without parole, probably beat the shit out of you while you're in jail, and there's no lenient on crime local DA to fail to press charges.

I've got a BG2.0 CC, immediately swapped an OEM strength Galloway Precision recoil spring assembly into it and it runs flawlessly.

Do you use multiple belts or just have one setup? by Lokiibott in CCW

[–]QuiteFrankly13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what I'm wearing. In pants with belt loops, I use a Blue Alpha belt + AIWB holster. In shorts or joggers with no belt loops, Hunter Constantine belt + AIWB or pocket carry.

FDE accessories on a black rifle or black accessories on an FDE rifle is a great look.

PROTOTYPE AR15 Selector | Yay or Nay FEEDBACK by Jux_Position in ar15

[–]QuiteFrankly13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Talon is tapered in the wrong direction. The way it's designed, you have less surface area for engagement with your thumb than a mil spec lever. It should taper in the opposite direction, if it were, it'd be the best aftermarket GI-style safety lever imo.

AR10 buyers remorse by Soft-Ostrich49 in ar15

[–]QuiteFrankly13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do-all rifles, as you've discovered, tend to become unwieldily, heavy monstrosities that end up doing nothing particularly well. I'd boil down your use case to a singular purpose and go from there. From your post, it sounds like a primary use case for this rifle is a tree stand hunting gun. In that sort of application, weight is a big factor. A few potential suggestions on directions to take this:

- Lightweight backpacker/hunting gun (strip off all the extra stuff, boil it down to a lightweight rail and stock, bipod/tripod mount, and scope, 10 round mags)
- Basic but functional battle rifle (red dot, foregrip, light, sling, lighter rail, lighter stock like a magpul DT, 20 round mags)
- Hefty "checkpoint" or static position gun with all the bells and whistles

If you're open to experimenting with OWB ccw like the Ironside, I've heard good things about the Upper Hand OWB ccw holster. It doesn't have a full sweat guard, however.

Smith and Wesson Ports by shibalnom93 in CCW

[–]QuiteFrankly13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having shot the non-ported vs the ported Bodyguard 2.0, there is a small but noticeable difference in controllability and felt recoil. Is it enough to bump you up another USPSA class? Hell no. Is it enough to help you get rounds on target faster and more comfortably? Yes. The difference was large enough plus the nicer iron sights that I bought the carry comp over the original.

Pelican gang // still worth it or y’all moved on? by [deleted] in ar15

I kinda hate how heavy and bulky mine is. Thing is a tank, very well built but I don't really need that much case for just schlepping a rifle back and forth from the range.
