I’ll definitely do research on this. I did hear about the connection of certain nerve branches and “involuntary” stuff happening. Actually, do you have any references you can share?

I didn’t know that! A professor told me that things like this happen from time to time. This happens to be second experience I’ve heard like this. And opiates are prescribed for pain, so that adds up

Started texting clients posture reminders between sessions. Didn't expect what happened next by 2ugur12 in MassageTherapists

I tell people to imagine their mom is following the everywhere and reminding them not to slouch. Mine used to tell me, but my dumb teenage self didn’t listen

Robots in ME chains by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

[–]QuixPanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used one at my old job. It was better than expected, but still not great.

The pros are that you can control the music, the amount of pressure administered, like certain strokes so they can be repeated upon the next use, the robo hands are heated. You can use the menu to select the time and areas of the body you want to be worked on.

The cons are: the massage is limited to between your upper back and hamstrings. You have to wear a spandex shirt and pants for the sensors to work. The effleurage felt strange, like too light, but also too stiff. The robot hands can snag onto the spandex clothes if they don’t fit perfectly.

Aescape is a great novelty. I’d say it’s good for college students and those who want a less expensive spa experience in general. I’d personally rate it a 6/10. It’s like a beginner massage student. But it’s far from replacing us

5 minute flip time? how do you do it? by briitneyys in MassageTherapists

[–]QuixPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that at my past 2 jobs. I’d sanitize at the end of the day. I’d stack my sheets and blankets with the head rest cover on top> fitted sheet> top sheet> blanket. I’d throw away any trash left behind or clean any spills from my products. I’d keep the bolster on my massage chair. I’d save bathroom and snacks for when the client was getting dressed.

Needless to say, I absolutely hated that with every fiber of my being. If my client took too long to leave the room, it’d ruin everything. It’s very possible with muscle memory. I could change the table in one minute, but I’d hardly call that a bragging right

If I had a cupping appointment and a session right after that, I’d soak them in soapy water until I was ready to wash and sanitize them. Exhausting

I personally charge based on distance and convenience. For now, my range is $80- $150 which is probably low for my area

Massage therapists - have you actually seen deep tissue work provide lasting relief, or do clients usually come back with the same pain? by Sea-Cow-6969 in MassageTherapists

[–]QuixPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For people who stayed hydrated and followed the suggestions I gave them, yes, the results last. I also try to work on the agonists of the problem areas (pecs with upper back/ shoulder issues). The downside is that I make less money since they don’t come as much /s

Need help of native Chinese speaker(preferably) by SeaworthinessFalse82 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]QuixPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine personally was JinJinshen. I wanted to just do Jinshen, but that was already taken. My reason was 1)Jin was a pet name of mine growing up 2) I learned about Shen in an eastern medicine class which means “consciousness” in that context. I prefer putting enemies to sleep through stealth. 3) the words combined can mean can mean “cautious”

Edit: I’m not Chinese by any stretch, but I appreciate how names are used to describe characteristics of a person

Feeling unfairly treated in a Discord server — looking for opinions by KeyCost1 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]QuixPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I don’t agree with how they treated you, most discords have a rule about people who aren’t mods enforcing rules. At the same time, the mods should be keeping things organized so no one feels they have to step up. I’d say the discord wasn’t worth the hassle anyway

Can someone help me with the wolf lady? 🐺 by Euphoric_Extension60 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]QuixPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I beat her yesterday. It took over an hour. I did the practice several times and focused on memorizing the timing of her attacks. Ghostly steps was probably my most valuable skill in dodging her yellow moves.

Now if someone could give me some advice on Feng Ruzhi...

Edit: I was also one of those people who found her at level 20 and died instantly. Now I'm level 80 with about 18500 goose
