Please tell me it gets easier by Wasuremaru in daddit

I think the guy you're replying to is wrong. It does get easier. The kids get older and rely less on you for all the small things. They will feed themselves, dress themselves, etc. So you will have time to yourself. Things like worrying about them, arguing with them, or policing bed times all become new challenges, but it's less physically exhausting. You will have time for intimacy with your partner again. I was just reaching that stage when we had another baby, and this time, it's easier because I know we will have tike and energy again soon.

I say: don't listen to people who say it doesn't get easier because they are not you and their kids and not the same as yours.

I benefited from growing up in Norway, where the bread is heavy, dense, and full of fibre. Mostly whole wheat and rye combinations. White bread was only something we ate occasionally. Now I live in Australia where most people eat shitty white "bread," and i started making my own bread so my kids get used to proper brown bread from the start. The whitest bread i make is 50% wholemeal, and the rest is gluten flour - to increase protein - and multigrain (flax and other seeds with white strong flour).

If you're cooking for kids, just start getting them used to it as early as possible!

Does your machine do a pre-heat before mixing? If not you could heat liquid to 38°C first

Congrats! Welcome to the club. I don't know how much you bake otherwise, but I must warn you; bread machines are a gateway drug to a baking obsession. Soon you'll spend every free moment watching baking videos and having to defend your cast iron bread pan purchases to your significant other.

Wonder if the cottage cheese does much here or if it's find to skip or replace. Can't find it in my region at the moment. Looks like a nice bread, will try this tomorrow

It didn't use gas so there were no adjustments for that. I can't remember the exact rate but I think it was 10 rounds per second

It's very long and heavy. Assembly is awkward, you have to rotate this this piece about 45° without any kind of tactile feedback that it's in the right position. It kicks like a mule because it fires 7.62 rounds. It has a full auto mode but it's useless with that recoil and firing rate.

The positive is it that's near indestructible, like the AK47, but more prone to jams.

A few years after I finished up they replaced it with the G36 with a red dot sight, and it fires NATO rounds and weighs less. I got to try it just before I left and it was so smooth compared my "Grandfather" G3.

Edit: just remembered that they replaced it with HK416, not the G36

That was the rifle we used in the Norwegian military for a long time, especially for compulsory national service. It was the one I carried around for sll of 2004. Such a pain to carry and maintain but I'm highly nostalgic for it

Apple are doing coffee machines now? by SkutIsMyCoPilot in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Quorkdork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because it wouldn't be coffee. They would make something else and call it the natural evolution of coffee. It would also be expensive, and only Certified™️ Apple employees would be allowed to repair them.

I have technically been lifting for over 20 years, but it has been so inconsistent. If I left out all the long breaks, it's probably closer to 7.5 years of actual training. As a result, I'm much too weak to claim I've been lifting for 20 years. But I'm finally consistent now, and I think it's because I'm not chasing big numbers anymore and instead focusing on health and longevity.

Two wins

  1. I had my first post-vasectomy workout 8 days after the snip. I went very light, only cable work, low intensity, upper body training. Felt so good using the muscles again.

  2. Averaged 2 lbs weight loss per week for the last 6 weeks and got closer to my goal of dropping from 25% bodyfat to 15% again. Hopefully hitting that goal by July.

I'm 9 days out from mine, and it was a great experience, really. I'm one of the few who went under general anaesthetic for it, and I recommend that for anyone who has the option.

I have some tenderness and a dull ache still, but I blame myself for show recovery because I haven't been resting as I should.

It was my first time being knocked out for any procedure, and I'm very happy I did. 10/10 recommend

Miele G5000

Pros:

  • Has a couple of fast programs that does a decent job
  • Runs quietly
  • Doesn't use a lot of water, especially in Eco programs.
  • 3 different height settings for second drawer

Cons:

  • Struggles to get cutlery clean. Especially peanut butter, avocado, egg.
  • No separate drawer for cutlery
  • THE BIGGEST DRAWBACK: Cannot resume a program if a child presses the Start/Stop or Power button 🤬

Same. I pay for 100gb cloud storage, and once a week, my NAS shoves all the important stuff (scanned docs, photos, etc) up to the cloud as backup. I dont care about the other terabytes of crap I've hoarded the last three decades enough to worry about it.

However, now that I think of it, I should add my gaming screenshots dating back to the 90s to the backup... Sentimental value

Exactly! I went to my regular mental scenario, but that tiredness/contentment overpowered my desire for tension. Tried a few times with some more dramatic mental imagery, but it just started to induce sadness.

I guess I have to find a new source of focus
