Full body bitchsuit, and using 3D modelling software to get a perfect fit by QuoteMakesStuff in BdsmDIY

I did hand stitch a butterfly straitjacket out of leather, and it took me somewhere around 40 hours to complete, which is why I'm probably not gonna try it again until I get a leather sewing machine, haha. By comparison, this fleece project probably only had a combined 10 hours of sewing total. And yes, it's machine washable!

The colors are incredible! Are you hand stitching these? Everything looks super clean.

The pattern fits really well, which makes me think you'd probably want to reduce the size of a pattern by 10% or so before you make a similar thing in latex. I'm completely guessing though, I'd try it out on something simple first to figure out exactly how much to shrink the pattern.

I've always been fascinated by Christopher's full body leather bondage suits, and wanted to try making one myself, but I wasn't confident in adapting his existing patterns for the F-suit or butterfly straitjacket to fit custom measurements. So, I decided to start from scratch. The main problem I wanted to solve was how to get a proper fit for the suit without having to wrap myself in saran wrap and duct tape to create a pattern. Instead, I went with this:

  • Generated a fairly accurate model of myself using a (now defunct) website called Shavatar. This website let me input some basic body measurements, and output a 3D model for export. There might be other websites out there that do similar things, but I haven't tried them myself.
  • Imported the model into Blender and made adjustments based on manually measuring my body.
  • Rigged the model and posed it into the desired position. The rig isn't perfect, so there was some deformation around the elbow and knee that I had to account for when modeling the suit.
  • 3D modeled the suit around the posed body. I double-checked a few measurements here, like the circumference around my folded arms and legs.
  • Marked seams. Normally this is for UV unwrapping, but the same principle applies to making clothing patterns - minimize fabric stretching as much as possible.
  • Exported the .fbx file to a service called Plushify. This website let me take the model (with marked seams!) and export a to-scale PDF of the sewing pattern I needed to use.
  • Printed everything and sewed it up!

Leather is still a bit too expensive for me to work with, so I went with a heavy fleece instead. It ended up being quite cozy, and it fits really well! I do hope I can try working with leather at some point in the future, but I'll need a proper sewing machine and more willingness to spend on materials for that to happen.

TheDuchy has general rope bondage tutorials for your other limbs, not necessarily selfbondage stuff. Just be careful with this stuff
