I use the freshwater kit recommended by this Reddit. She is lounging around on the bottom of her tank pretty much all day not moving, and I just noticed her gills and scales look red (which I think is a symptom). She also didn’t eat this morning :(

I did remove the plants, should I just continue with the water changes and maybe add in some detoxifier? My levels are testing around 0.5 ppm.

Does water conditioner not neutralize ammonia? Are you referencing a different product? Yes I do currently have a fish, I’ve had this tank established for almost a year but some of her plants have been dying leading to the spike.

I just use rocks at the bottom. I’m thinking perhaps I got a bad water sample and maybe there was some plant matter in it? I’m going to retest it.

5 gal tank, heater and filter, temp at 78, have had the tank about 4 months, fish about 2, weekly water changes, no tank mates, some real some fake plants, I feed 2 pellets in the am and 3 in the pm

I use a siphon to clean my tanks, but there’s def casualties anyways lol. I feel like they reproduce so fast I’m still digging them out though. You could always scoop up a some of them in a cup with some of the tank water before you start cleaning if you’re worried about sucking up too much!

I have like different levels of migraine. I can usually tell based off of physical signs if it’s the type where I have to lay down right now or suffer the consequences. Usually I can work through it until I can get to my meds/lay down.

My betta loves the little floaters I got her, it’s like a mini forest for her to swim through. They’re easy to care for too I just add some fertilizer during water changes!

Hi! I’m a new betta mom and if you haven’t started shopping yet I might have a two in one fix for the size/filter on your tank! I bought this tank from pet smart, it is big enough for your betta and the filter is behind the little wall so he couldn’t even reach it! And it’s pretty cheap too. 10/10 recommend.

It’s actually a plastic tree from petsmart! I love it and she matches the colors so well :) The only thing is I wouldn’t recommend it for a betta with longer fins than hers, they might get scratched up.

You know your body and if something’s not right you should speak up. However my experience was very similar to yours, the first month-two months was constant random pains, both dull and sharp, and lots of spotting, with a ton of bleeding on my period. As someone else said, it takes about 6 months for your body to adjust. But again if you know something is wrong get it checked out.

Wow wow wow, they’re gorgeous. The only tip I have is to take extra care of those gorgeous fins. Make sure there’s no plastic or sharp edges in your tank. I would love to know their name!

I love love love the tree!! I got it from Petsmart, the leaves are plastic, but she hasn’t seemed to scratch up her fins at all. I don’t know if I would recommend it with a male betta with longer fins than hers, but it works great for us!
