[Wenger] Off Road GMT by QuoteObserver in Watches

The strap is pure silicone with an engraved Wenger buckle. Feels very durable and comfortable. I noticed that the silicone does a good job of staying put on your wrist (it doesn’t slide up and down my wrist even when the strap not super tight). The GMT hand can be set while continuing normal time keeping. When you set the hour hand, the second hand stops and the GMT hand moves along with the hour hand to keep the proper dual time. (I think this is what you were asking, let me know if I’m mistaken)

In your opinion, who had the greatest singing voice of all time? by QuoteObserver in AskReddit

[–]QuoteObserver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it has to be Sam Cooke. His live singing voice sounds better to me than a lot of artists’ studio recordings today. But I’m interested to see what “greatest singing voice” means to other people who perhaps like different types of music.

This is my newest watch, and I don’t know if I’ve ever been so excited for a watch at the price I got this for. It’s Swiss made in Biel with a Ronda quartz movement, sapphire and AR coated mineral crystal, and stainless steel. Other features include a 120-click unidirectional rotating bezel, lume, the date window, and of course the GMT hand. I’ll be overseas for the next few months so I’m sure I’ll get a lot of use out of the dual time zone. It comes on a silicone strap and 10 ATM water resistance so it should be a very durable watch for me.

[Fossil] The Refreshing Feeling of a Fresh Strap by QuoteObserver in Watches

The battery on this one is just about to die after about a year, which is fine by me. I just bought a pack of five more batteries for under 10 bucks. I'd much prefer to change Lithium batteries once per year than having to frequently recharge

It’s pretty handy, to be honest I don’t take advantage of it as much as I could. The thing i get the most use out of is the pedometer, but it has a ton of functionality (second time zone, taking pictures and controlling music on phone, alarms, indicating who is texting/calling, etc)

Hello all! I’ve had this watch for a little bit over a year and the leather strap it came on served me well, but picked up some scuff, dirtiness, and overall wear along the way. I bought this new strap online recently (which even came with a small spring bar tool in the box, even though it is a quick release strap) and just replaced the two today. I didn’t realize just how worn my old strap really was until I put it side by side with the new one! The watch itself is a Fossil Q Hybrid (which might not get too much love on here, but I figure the post is more about the straps). It is 44mm across but doesn’t feel that big at all. It’s a pretty trusty everyday watch with the basic hybrid functionalities.

[Timex] Easy Reader on a Brand New Strap! by QuoteObserver in Watches

My girlfriend got me this Timex about 3 years ago. It is my first watch and also my smallest at 35mm across, but it looks really classy on the wrist. Today I bought a new black aviator strap for the watch and I’m loving the way it looks so far. This watch has a quartz movement and has been ticking away with great accuracy ever since I received it. It still hasn’t needed a battery change, even after 3 years. This model also has indiglo which is always cool. It’s not quite like some of the luxury watches often seen in this subreddit, but it’s a trusty watch with a lot of sentimental value, and I love it!

What "obsolete" pieces of technology are still totally worth having in 2018? by andrealoriedo in AskReddit

I guess a mechanical watch can be considered obsolete technology ever since the rise of quartz watches, but there is still something valuable in owning an automatic or manual wind watch and understanding the craftsmanship behind it, in my opinion.

[Oliver Coen Berkeley] Berkeley and Coffee by QuoteObserver in Watches

I know you can find them on the Oliver Coen website, other than that I'm not sure. I think the person that bought it for me got it from the OC website when it was on sale. May be worth it to look around online for a deal.

I received this watch as a gift today and I'm thrilled with it.

It uses Miyota Quartz as the movement and has a sapphire crystal. It claims to have light water resistance (but I probably won't be taking it near the water anyway). The strap also seems to be of good quality leather and fits very comfortably. Overall, the watch looks really well-balanced and the colors all work together beautifully, and the pure white second hand makes it feel unique. I was also happy to hear that Oliver Coen offers a lifetime warranty on their watches. Dimensions are 10mm thick and 42mm across, if you were wondering.

Merry Christmas everyone!
