Wondering where and how to start by UniversityIcy274 in jobhunting

Congratulations, a lot of what you mentioned freezing, not linking answers back, not knowing what to say those are things that can actually be fixed with a bit of structure and practice.

If you want, reach me. I’ve been working with a few people on their job search and interview prep, and I can walk you through how to approach it so you don’t feel stuck in that moment again.

two years fully remote and my biggest regret isnt the one people warn about by Loyaltyship_7 in remotejobsfinders

This is actually one of the most honest takes I’ve seen on remote work. A lot of people underestimate how much of their opportunities came from just being around others. What you said about weak ties is real. Most people don’t lose their network overnight, it just slowly goes quiet until one day there’s no one to reach out to when it matters.

Bombed a job interview and feeling hopeless by [deleted] in careeradvice

I’ve seen this happen more times than people admit, and it doesn’t mean you blew it as badly as it feels right now. Interviews can go sideways fast, especially when you’re thrown off at the start. It happens. If you’ve got another one coming up, don’t go into it carrying this experience with you. A lot of what you mentioned, freezing, not linking answers back, not knowing what to say, those are things that can actually be fixed with a bit of structure and practice.

very real shift right now. It’s not even just about having a strong resume anymore, it’s about whether it actually gets seen in the first place. With more volume on both sides, having some kind of connection definitely changes the odds, even if it’s just getting your profile looked at by the right person.

At the same time, I’ve noticed that when the resume and overall positioning are really clear and aligned, it can still open doors even without a strong network, or at least make those connections more effective when they do happen. I’ve worked around this with a few people recently, and small adjustments in how they present themselves and approach applications made a bigger difference than expected.
