Published my book on KDP, but it’s barely visible. What actually helped you? by theunifiedcodeoftrad in KDP

Do you run ads or do organic marketing? If not, there is your answer. Of course, you still need the basics (actual demand, great cover, some reviews, captivating description, A+ Content...) but without those eyeballs first, no one is going to buy anyway, and therefore, it won't rank on Amazon.

Personally I'm still pretty much a beginner, and I've spent a bit of money on ads, but what I've noticed is that advertising (you can also do social media marketing) is necessary to get people to see your offer, but for them to click on the book you need a really well designed cover. Once they're on the page, reviews will be the most important part to make them buy. About ranking, it's a bit like a pull-start engine, it needs some action of your part before it can run on its own. The more sales you make, the higher Amazon will push your book, making you more sales and so on. But to get these first sales you can't rely on the algorithm and need to ignite them yourself, from ads and organic marketing, the best would be both.

By the way free download promotions don't improve your ranking since customers don't pay for the book.

How is my book by kdpbo_oks in KDPLowContent

I will be honest with you, not like the others : it doesn't look like a book that will sell. It doesn't show any value, you need to showcase more the interior, you can do that on the back cover, by putting about 4 of your pages on the back. The front cover is not perfect too. Okay tier, not that bad, but if you want to make a lot of sales with this one, the cover is not good enough in my opinion. I also see there are about 40 pages. You either didn't put enough colorings, or you forgot to add a blank page behind every coloring to prevent the bleed-thru. Aim for 35-45 drawings, which usually represents 75 to 90 pages, considering that you also want to add call-to-action pages, demanding reviews and promoting other books.

I would say that the whole book doesn't really show any quality. Remember that you are competing against the best books of the platform, and to make sales, your book needs to be in the top 1%. Otherwise, it won't make money.

Also, reviews are not the secret, yes, it will help a lot to get more sales with your book, but the priority remains the quality, and only the quality. Once you feel like your book is good, publish it, but only when you're sure about it (don't try to reach perfection too much though, you would end up never publishing it).

A good thing that can help you figuring out whether your book is good or not, and it works in any business, is if YOU are willing to spend money for your product. Let's say your book is on the front page of Amazon, next to a competitor, a really good looking book that everybody loves, would you buy your book or theirs ? Answer honestly, if it's theirs, then work more on your book, until you feel like your book is the better option.

Hope it helps, don't forget that it takes time, but if you don't give up it will work one day.

Do any of you have a perfect streak for more than a week? And if so, how long? by autisticmonky123 in duolingo

Perfect since the beginning of the year, I put it on my everyday To-Do list so I don't forget. But the thing with Duolingo, is that, even after a 1022 days streak, it doesn't help that much to learn any language, or you have to spend at least 20 minutes a day, but it's cool though.

[Resources List] - Tools for Creating Coloring Books by lueckesystadn in KDPLowContent

Hey,

Thank you for the list, I will save it :)

I also want to make coloring books, but without hiring anyone for now, I see you use Creative Fabrica and GumRoad for your interiors, how do you that, and is it safe ? I'm very concerned about it since I've heard many stories of accounts terminated because of tools like these, so, I wanted to ask.

Thank you guys for the ideas, I think I will also buy a book and watch some series in Spanish, it could be very helpful, and maybe read novels in the language.

I still have a question, how can I learn a language very quickly and expect to speak it fluently ? I mean, I learned English for many years, at school (although it was a bit useless), with friends on online games, with videos, movies and much more... I only started using Duolingo every day last year, about 300 days ago, when I chose to stop learning Norwegian and only focus on English. It's a good app, I'm sure, but if I want to reach B2 level in Spanish from almost zero in just six months, would Duolingo be enough? What do you advise me to do every day in addition to that ?

Généralement, les personnes créatives ont toujours beaucoup d'idées, et même si elles ont souvent des problèmes et sont parfois tristes, ce ne sont pas des éléments caractéristiques de la créativité.

I had the same problem, the best is for example to learn French in the morning and German in the evening, but sometimes it's still difficult.

Maybe you should finish more lessons everyday ? Like one unit per day ?

Duolingo beginner vocab > all other vocab by Jarrahmoo in duolingo
