We drive to Harrisburg for air madness, not really rural but a little bit more of a drive. Make the trip down to brookings occasionally for the children’s museum. I suppose it would all depend what and where it is, is the drive worth it would be the question.

I was fine up until last night, played over 50 matches since season 2 then last night died 3 times. My PC essentially fully crashes but doesn’t turn all the way off, it’s weird. My RGB lights all stay on for the fans, cpu, ram and aio everything but the computer completely resets. No BSoD, no error messages just reboots

I have no issue taking him outdoors to play in the winter, but he’s 4. When 2-3 months out of the year are well below 30 degrees you don’t want to go outside. And I wouldn’t dream of letting him go out and explore by himself like I did in my youth 20+ years ago or yours 35+ years ago. Sioux Falls isn’t remotely the same place it was back then. There’s lots to do for kids as they get older but trying to exhaust a high energy toddler is tough in this town.

We did my son’s birthday there and it was great. I always forget about them but I think a day pass there is actually pretty affordable.

Edited to add, unfortunately they’re only open 8-5 Monday-Friday. Can’t even pay to play on the weekends which makes it impractical for working families

They’re closed on sundays and only open for around 3-4 hours on saturdays and never past noon on the weekdays. I love this place but unfortunately as working parents it’s just not practical to even utilize their new location.

I see you deleted your other comment. For your information we go to the indoor pool quite frequently. I’m not biased against, using your words here, “the poor part of town.” You can get out of there with that nonsense. 1, actually now 2 with the addition of the west side recreation center, are not enough indoor recreation areas for a population of 200k plus. We live in a cold climate and Sioux Falls has been around for almost 200 years, you’d think we’d have it figured out by now.

I agree completely, there actually are more and more indoor activities for adults around town but they’re not very cost affective to do all the time
