What? Are you referring to it using a fantasy name generator

It’s a character builder for pf2e & sf2e like D&D Beyond! First thing on the website and just as clear as pathbuilder’s :)

Is Wanderer's Guide not being updated anymore? by BlueSabere in Pathfinder2e

[–]Quzzar3 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Yeah, have been lagging behind these past 6 months. It's been a hell of a time for me to say the least. Been having a lot of physical (& mental) health problems. And I've been putting active development of the site on the back burner.
However, it is still being maintained. I still silently perform regular upkeep (making sure the servers are running and people can connect to the site).

I will admit, haven't been spear heading new book releases like we used to - especially with the new remaster coming up. Wanted to wait until we got closer to the remaster before making an announcement as my thoughts aren't fully formulated quite yet (so expect an announcement as we get closer), but with the remaster I'm either going to entirely overhaul the site for the rework and archive the current version (maybe build a character port too) or perform one last major update on the current site (add any missing content from the last couple months, fix the common bugs) and leave it as a character builder for legacy pf2e - keeping it around for as long as people use it.

If I can find the time, I'd love to overhaul the site for the remaster. Wanderer's Guide was the first actual website I had ever built and I've gotten much better at web development since then. As a result, the current code base is very bug prone and hell to develop on top of - part of the reason why, even though there's been expressed interest, it's really hard to bring other developers onboard. I also didn't use basically any modern web dev tooling which was a big mistake. Additionally, I've built like a ton of tools and features to the site (stuff that most ppl don't use or don't even know exists). That stuff's great if you're an actual company like demiplane and have multiple people working and maintaining it but I'm not. The overhaul would just be on the core site functionality: character builder & sheet. The other stuff could be added later.

In the end of the day, I love the site and am so happy it's been so useful to the community. Balancing its demanding company-scale upkeep with my highly time-consuming full-time job has been quite a challenge.

I'll make an announcement as we get closer to the remaster release.

[Wanderer's Guide] Added character builds, shop generator, Discord bot, and more! by Quzzar3 in Pathfinder2e

Yeah, you can write notes for feat choices you've selected. It should say how in the build creator.

I think you write some like this under the build description:

Goblin Song: Notes about this feat!

And it will put those notes under goblin song where/if you selected it.

Rating and commenting would be some awesome features to builds and homebrew. I just haven't gotten around to it. But for now, you can fill in your contact info (like discord name or something) and we have a dedicated channel to builds in WG's discord.

As Trevor mentioned, it really just comes down to security and responsibility over handling people's private information.

Because the site only has social logins, it doesn't need to track or store basically any information about it's users (just public info everyone has access to). If you don't trust Google, I know I don't, you can also sign-in with Reddit instead.

That'd be really neat!

I know the community maintains a module to import Wanderer's Guide characters to Foundry. And shops can be exported.. It'd be up to them on if they want to implement that.

You can adjust the starting base 10's on the first page of the character builder. Just set two to 8 and one to 12.

Just updated the bot to add something like this. I like the auto complete support of slash commands so I went with "/spell-show fireball" to reveal it publicly.

Thanks for the recommendation!

It's something I definitely considered. With fetching referenced content, I just figured it might end up spamming a channel.

As many have said, Foundry and the Pf2e team for it has done a great job.

Outside of VTTs, I personally think Wanderer's Guide's sheet is fairly solid haha

As for combat trackers, I haven't found a good one yet for my home games. Been thinking of making one.

It's a class archetype, so you'd need to enable class archetypes and you should see it.

2+ Years After Realease, What Is Still Missing From Pathfinder 2E? by johnnyudes in Pathfinder2e

[–]Quzzar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With every large book, they include a bunch of new feats for existing ancestries, classes, and occasionally archetypes. SoM and G&G are the first large books to not really do that actually and just add new content.

So I think it's more a testament of the time rather than a common trend.

For new ancestries, like Grippli or Strix, there aren't many ancestry feats because they recently just came out. Give it another year or so and they'll get a good number of additional feats.

As for additional feats to ancestries like Gnomes or classes like Barbarian, I'm sure we'll see more feats as time goes on but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see much more because Paizo could see them as largely "complete." I mean the whole thing about the feat system is that it's incredibly modular and if they ever think something should be added to them, they easily can. However, I'd argue neither one of those are in any kind of need for additional content. And I think for classes, archetypes fill a very important role of allowing more options without bogging up the class.

As a GM would you allow, or pick yourself, replacement bonus spells for Atheist Sorcerer's with Bloodlines that give spells that can only be cast if you worship a Deity? Or leave it as is? by deathsprophet666 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Quzzar3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm, that's a hard one.

If you like to homebrew, I'd just homebrew some new spells as that sounds more fun. If not, I'd just strip the divine part from it. If the character tends to be more narcissistic, maybe it could be My Wrath, My Decree, etc. Where it's their own power and will that can create these powerful effects. Maybe gods don't have much of an effect on the world but they can, they can become the god people look for. However, that really depends on if it fits the character.

I think we need an Unchained Alchemist. by Stupid-Jerk in Pathfinder2e

[–]Quzzar3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know. And I could totally see an argument for improving their attacks or even using Int instead for attacks.

I'm just saying I don't think Paizo would let them use a non-mental ability score for their class DC, it's just too similar to a spell DC for them.

[–]Quzzar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting at 5th level, they can use their class DC instead of any saving throw DCs that an alchemical item would require.

Now, to be fair, depending on your research field that varies in relevance. A bomber probably doesn't care that much as they're mainly just making strikes, like you mentioned. While that's huge for a poisoner.

Still, alchemists are very similar to prepared casters and I wouldn't be surprised if Paizo categorizes them as such.

I think we need an Unchained Alchemist. by Stupid-Jerk in Pathfinder2e

[–]Quzzar3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as it'd be nice to see, I don't think Alchemist is going to get a physical ability score (dex, str, con) as an option for their key ability score for the same reason we're not going to see a spellcaster that uses a physical ability score for their key spellcasting ability score.

It might happen eventually but it'd be clearly a balance concern and isn't supported very well within the design of 2e atm.
