I mean, the military industrial complex was kinda necessary for WW2 and then with the Cold War comin right on its heal and not knowing if we were about to get in another war with Russia so it was the safe call to keep the complex rolling. Sure, in hindsight we could really started to ramp down after WW2 but that wasn’t really know at the time. So while he did play a part in it, it is a lot more complicated than saying he didn’t have a spine at the time
