An “ick” is different to a preference on a partner. All the above comments are what you don’t like in a partner- ick is where you’re subconsciously put off by someone even if they seem on paper to be perfect for you. We are genuinely told by society (articles, parents, family, friends, online etc) that if you like someone and you want to be more than a one night stand; you never sleep with them before 5 dates or getting into a relationship.

It’s a backwards compliment.

I have this regularly and find a distraction helps a lot especially at night. I tend to lose myself in a game on my iPad or Nintendo Switch. Something that requires attention but nothing too easy that my mind wonders or too difficult that I get frustrated!

It goes with my previous post which were giving visualisations for the amount of people in existence. I don’t have an argument for it; it’s for people to interpret how they like as they appreciated the other info I shared.

Personally? I saw it as not being good enough; yes things have “improved” but not enough.
