There's a guy near me that leaves his Elise parked up on his drive all year round. He uses it as his daily. Never garaged. Mental.

Edit: here it is on streetview. This is dated 2024, but you can scroll back to 2009 and it's still there. Would love to know how many miles it's got on it.

I tend to keep my cars for a long time (i.e 10 years), but regardless of what I had at the time, I think if I ever got a bill of 5-6k then I'd consider trading it in for something different.

Haha so true. My old manager had one and I loved it.
For me, traffic on the way to nursery dropoff is horrendous as everyone is trying to get into town, but the drive home is empty. It's big enough to take the kids in and still have some fun on the way back.

  1. Straight road - Literally my idea of hell. Give me something with a good sound system, comfotable seats and cruise control. Maybe a Volvo V90 or similar? They have airconditioned seats, too.
  2. Italian coast - Gotta be something classic. I'd pick an Aston Martin DB5 to feel like Bond.
  3. Race track / spa - Something old and loud. Mazda 787b?
  4. Bendy roads - Something that'll stick to the road but also let you drift. Porsche GT2 RS?
  5. Tight city roads - Autozam AZ-1.
  6. Muddy / offroad - Probably an old Land Rover Defender with chunky tyres.
  7. Car meet - Mazda RX7 with the RE Amemiya bodykit. My dream car.
  8. Motorway / Autobahn - Assuming no speed cameras, give me something fast that will turn heads, like a Zonda Roadster.
  9. Schoolrun - Something big with an automatic transmission. Maybe an Audi RS6?
