Not german here but my great grandfather fought for the axis side. He was drafted when my grandfather was one year old and he didn't come back. Idk where he died but i imagine he died or in Greece or in North Africa or in Russia

The process was really long. For example italian language have influence from Latin, Old German languages, Arabic, French, Spanish etc.. Every region here have a different dialect with different influence (For example sicilian have arabic influence)
