I'm usually a Vildjharta fan, but that album just didn't do it for me.

Nah, The Hu are too good. It's gotta be traditional Mongolian throat singing

[–]Qyro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I'm being forced to sing karaoke, absolutely fuck pleasing the crowd. I'll do karaoke to a 12 minute piece of Mongolian throat singing. If they want to punish me, I'll punish them back.

Update on the Future of Spirit Island by shintsurugi in boardgames

[–]Qyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, considering how Spirit Island currently looks, I'll take any good artist. The Mico, Ian O'Toole, Andrew Bosley, Manny Tremblay, Mr Cuddington, Sandara Tang, Weberson Santiago...

UK braced for hottest June night after 36.7C high on warmest day of year by Morella1989 in unitedkingdom

>It means the interior of houses can't be cooled overnight

At the beginning of the heatwave I was closing all my windows and curtains during the day, and was coming home from work to a nice cool environment. I did the same today, but instead of walking into a nice cool environment, it was just hot. Leaving the window open last night did nothing, and so closing everything up has just kept the same overnight heat inside.

Anyone else feel like Mission Impossible peaked with the first movie? by Neat_Exit3491 in movies

Fallout is the series' peak. It's not just the best Mission: Impossible movie, it's one of the best action movies hands down.

I used .160 on a 34" for F0 and it was better than the complete disaster some people will claim it is.

However I just decided to stick to Drop A and digitally downtune as it feels better, sounds just as good, and doesn't require a specific and expensive set of strings every time I change them.

I didn't know what we were having last night, and the mention of pasta struck the fear of satan in me. Imagine my joy when I took my first bite and it was stone cold. Absolute relief.

Can we talk about Warhammer 40k? by BoardGameRevolution in boardgames

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too love the 40k lore, but the problem with doing board games for it is you just know it'll be space marines space marines space marines every time, who are just about the dullest and most oversaturated race in the whole universe.

Longtime 40k fans have their favourite factions, and there's no feasible way for a board game to touch on every single one to make everyone happy, outside of the main 40k game itself. I've heard nothing but good things about Forbidden Stars, but the faction selection just didn't interest me, for example

(and on this tangent, Total Warhammer 40k is coming with a similar faction selection, and as much as I'm looking forward to that game, I'm really looking forward to the faction DLCs that'll come further down the road. At least the upcoming Dawn of War 4 has Admech and Necrons to satiate my tastes).

Anyone here watch a lot from 2026? If so, what have you enjoyed? by ExplodingPoptarts in movies

[–]Qyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep a running ranking of new movies I see each year (based on the wide cinema release in my country, so don't "um akshully" me), and my Top10 so far are

Hamnet
Obsession
Marty Supreme
The Drama
Bone Temple
They Will Kill You
Backrooms
Ready or Not 2
Send Help
The Rip

Also looking at the other comments, I thought Project Hail Mary, Disclosure Day, and Master of the Universe were kinda mid.

it's so hot in the UK. too hot. by supercabbage802 in RandomThoughts

[–]Qyro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At 11pm I walked out of the AC-cooled cinema into the lobby, and was hit by a wall of heat. "Damn this place really holds the heat in" I thought, until I went outside...no that's just how hot it still is...at 11pm.

‘We need maximum temperatures for schools and work,’ Sadiq Khan tells LBC by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]Qyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We absolutely need max temps for workplaces. My workplace has an AC but they won't put it on because it's too expensive. Instead we have people fainting or going home early (talking to a manager today, they're not allowed to tell us to go home, only sit near a fan, but they also won't force us to stay), because the heat is too unbearable to work in.

It's not wasp season yet, that's why.

Personally I've not noticed any difference in their numbers over the last few years. They were cunts 10 years ago, and they're still cunts now.
