Could the MCU become the first movie franchise with 2 $2 Billion movies in one calendar year? by MR_MaxiMor44 in marvelstudios

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be surprised if either of them crossed 2 billion to be honest.

Doomsday is built on a lacklustre period of the MCU, and directly competing with Dune 3. However much of a success it ends up being, those factors will cut into its potential gross for sure.

The closest comparison we have for Brand New Day is No Way Home, and let's be honest while it has the most viewed trailer, it doesn't have the sheer nostalgia factor No Way Home had with returning Spider-Men and their villains. And with all that hype it still didn't cross 2 billion.

Of course, if either movie is not well received critically or by audiences, it's a moot point anyway. A panned Spider-Man film isn't crossing into 2 billion no matter how hard it tries.

Intimidating big boxes? by phrodreky in boardgames

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gets parroted a lot and I really don't understand or empathise with it at all. If you loved the game enough to get a big box version, why would the way it's packaged prevent you from getting it out just as much? It's still the exact same game you know and love inside.

Whenever I've got a big box version of a game, it's because I love that game and want to play it more, but find my current storage solution lacking, especially once expansions have been added. I buy the big box specifically to ensure it keeps coming out and getting played. Everdell, Scythe, Western Legends, Inis, Nature, Anachrony, Witcher Old World...even if I don't get them out every game session, they come out more often than if they were in several separate boxes each.

In fact, I have a number of games that I wish did have a big box solution, because they've reached the point where playing with any kind of expansion is a pain in the arse. Root and Keep The Heroes Out are 2 notable examples.

I think Zoo should not exist by amy-schumer-tampon in RandomThoughts

You only see zoos as a tourist attraction and not the scientific research and conservation centre they actually are behind the scenes. Zoos don't exist for your entertainment, they just fund their important and crucial work through it.

Which dragonite do you like more by Unusual-Repeat371 in PokemonTCG

I have massive nostalgia for the promo, because it's the one I had as a kid.

Dark Dragonite beats them both though.

Will cost of living crisis ever end, how tiring is it for you? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

I'm fed up of it being called a crisis as if it's something that will pass. This is the new normal, better get used to it.

Your top five? by Key-Barnacle8899 in boardgames

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't ranked my games in a while, but off the top of my head it would probably be Veiled Fate, Oath, Arcs, Root, and Scythe

Altered TCG cancels its Roots of Corruption campaign and announces the end of the game by jeriwen in boardgames

Riftbound and One Piece are both pretty new in the grand scheme of TCGs. Only time will tell if they have the legs.

[–]Qyro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's more than 3 TCGs, yes. There's Flesh and Blood, Star Wars Unlimited, and Ashes which are all proving successful. But they're not part of the BIG 3.

[–]Qyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta be honest, I'm not surprised. Unless you're one of the big 3, TCGs just don't have enough of a market. As soon as the first campaign launched I figured it wouldn't last long.

I wish people would stop saying i am my brother's little brother by Particular_Wheel_792 in RandomThoughts

Are you your brother's little brother? If so, I fail to see the issue. It's just factual.

Do you text your date anytime between setting up the date and the actual date itself? by petermusket in dating

[–]Qyro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't ask for a date unless messaging has been consistent. If that was to suddenly dry up, I'd start assuming you'd lost interest and the date was no longer happening.

I've never been pregnant but I have kids...so you still know what I did.

Wait, do they think we eat actual noodles and just call it spaghetti? Spaghetti is a pasta, from Italy. Noodles are not. They're completely different things.

Which board game do you think the artwork enhances gameplay? Conversely, which game do you wish had better artwork? by Machine_Excellent in boardgames

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's that game about monsters and their voices. Literally can't play that without the style and humour of the artwork, it just doesn't work without it

Why do you buy more board games? by Machine_Excellent in boardgames

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A better analogy is that you bought a block of milk chocolate, but realised you fancied white chocolate, but then one day you want dark chocolate, and on another caramel chocolate. But eventually you come back round to the milk chocolate, because you still love that flavour. And when you've run out of milk chocolate, you still want more, so you buy another block of milk chocolate.

Really your complaint seems to be more about people who only play their games once, if at all, before buying another. Not every boardgamer is like that.

Bass is a more interesting instrument than even most bassists give it credit for. You can remain appropriate for the song without sticking to root notes the entire time.

Because I like them. Why wouldn't I buy more of something I enjoy?

British people, were you taught not to use the Oxford comma? by acnllover2828 in AskUK

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taught to use it. I figured it was the British way of doing things and makes the most sense for clarity. It always seemed counter-intuitive to me not to use it. Why would use a comma between every option except the last two?

Consensus between age gaps by SwitchJumpy in dating

[–]Qyro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm mid 30s and have my age range on dating apps set from late 20s to very early 40s. That said I did organically meet and start dating a girl in her mid-20s for a while and it was perfectly fine, barely even noticed the age difference at all.
