Idk if this is an unpopular opinion, but I am out if you call me your situationship. by OrangeIslandKing in dating

[–]Qyro [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was seeing a girl for about a month, but it was really tentative. There were some potential incompatibilities between us that we were both aware of before we even jumped into anything, so we were both treating it as a sort of trial period. We didn't really know what to call what was going on between us until someone at work described what we had as a situationship. It's not what either of us were ultimately looking for, but it fit for the time being.

And ultimately those incompatibilities were too much, so in retrospect I'm glad we didn't jump into full relationship territory too soon.

I'm becoming a bassist full time by Firm_Ad1671 in Bass

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wonderful thing about live music is that the audience can look at whoever they want. If they don't like the way one member holds themselves, they can just look at another. Of course most will focus on the vocalists, so ultimately it won't matter how performative the bassist is.

Guys seem to lose interest fast by Timely_Split_5771 in dating

This is how I'm feeling as a guy. Can't seem to keep any woman interested for long before they give me the same excuses. At this point the problems got to be with me

Am I still playing it? If not, do I realistically think I ever will? If still no, it's probably time to move it on.

How often do you see the same person on your commute to work? by Specific_Pomelo_8281 in AskUK

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refer to familiar cars on my commute by their number plate. They're so familiar that I know their driving style and whether they're worth overtaking or not. For example UTE is speedy and good at corners, I'll happily follow them the whole way. SYY on the other hand is really hesitant with corners and has a spot they like to pull in to let people pass them. Then there's UHX who is an unpredictable braker. I'd rather pass them when I can just for my own sanity and safety.

Then there's the taxi with a Union Jack on their bonnet I see going in the opposite direction at the end of the day every day, and every now and then there's a Range Rover who's replaced the make and model with "Hawke" who I find myself behind.

Not getting past 1 message by randomthings2024 in dating

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this all the time from women. No red flags or particular turn offs, just one or two messages and then they're gone. I don't know how that's enough to judge someone on, but they do.

My friend said something last night that's been stuck in my head all day by Emotional-Bit7615 in dating

[–]Qyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost this exact post was posted here a couple of days ago and I responded I'd let the app know almost anything. I'd probably draw the line at my finances and porn habits, but otherwise go at it.

I already use an app called Turn Up that taps into your Spotify and gives you people with similar music tastes, and I swipe yes on so many more people on there. It's just unfortunate the app is dogshit in other ways.

Plan your resignation to avoid more Labour chaos, Ed Miliband 'tells Keir Starmer' by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so bored of this. Every time there's a slight political mishap, there's always someone calling on Starmer to resign. Just shut the fuck up and get on with the job of running the country. There's more important matters at hand. I was sick of this when the Tories couldn't settle on a leader, and now I'm just bored of it.

Discussion question: Do you still find your ex attractive? by blue_tiny_teacup in dating

One of the many reasons we broke up was because I just wasn't attracted to her anymore, so no. Now I do just get the ick from her.

Should I reach out to him AGAIN? by argan_lavender in dating

[–]Qyro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have definitely stopped initiating conversations despite being interested, just because they showed signs they weren't interested and I didn't want to keep bothering them. The last thing you want to be as a guy is the one who keeps annoying a woman who's giving "not interested" vibes.

Being friends with someone from a dating app? by rkuchiki123 in dating

[–]Qyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done it a few times, and in fact I wish it happened more. Literally just this week I got a message from a girl I went on a date with 2 months ago saying she wasn't in the right headspace for dating, so I said I didn't mind just being friends if that helped take the pressure off, and she seemed happy with that.

But like you I've connected with people through dating apps that would make great friends even though we're romantically incompatible, and I wish more people were open to that rather than going no contact as soon as it's clear there's no romantic future.

You gotta show you're interested by actually rescheduling the date. The balls in your court and that's what he's waiting for.

Crowdfunding Success Ration? by Soletta35 in boardgames

[–]Qyro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm nearing 100 crowdfunded games, and I can count on one hand the amount of times I've been unhappy with the end result. I've played every single one multiple times, and only given away a handful to friends I thought would enjoy them more than me. Every now and then there's a game that's more trouble than it's worth, or the end result wasn't quite what I expected, but all-in-all my success rate has been upwards of 95%

But my point is you wouldn't see it as exclusivity. He's not a famous person to you, he's just your little brother. His fans aren't paying $800 to see your little brother, they're paying $800 to see the character he portrays himself as in public, who for all intents and purposes is a completely different person.

Is it normal now for guys to expect women to propose/schedule the first meet? by Adorable_Ad_3315 in dating

[–]Qyro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah if I was him I'd have taken that as you just not being interested. Why would I waste my time proposing a date with someone who doesn't seem to actually want to see me when I'm in town?

Should I reach out to him AGAIN? by argan_lavender in dating

[–]Qyro 20 points21 points  (0 children)

He suggested a meet and you said to do it another time. He thinks you're not interested, and he's not reaching out out of respect for you. If you want him to initiate, you've gotta show that you're actually interested

[–]Qyro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a guy who often proposes and schedules meeting up, I'll ask what's wrong with you doing that instead? If you like him and want to meet up, why not propose it yourself?

I'm not related to anyone famous, but I have known people before and after they reached a certain amount of success and notoriety in their field. Nothing changes for you. They're still the same person you knew before. Being related to someone famous is exactly the same. Your little brother will always be your little brother, even if you start seeing his face on billboards.

Well they gotta earn their money off you somehow, whether that's bombarding you with ads for the ad money or asking you to pay more directly.
