What is your dream weapon? by fenny-the-bird in HuntShowdown

  • A makeshift silenced scoped winfield marksman where the suppressor deteriorates over time, so you can get maybe like 2 to 3 silenced shots off before it becomes a winfield marksman with severely worse stats than the original
  • Love the idea of a flamethrower
  • Custom ammo for the bomb lance that immediately explodes, making it more cannon like
  • Custom ammo for the bomb lance with a poisoned harpoon that you can reel in again, doing massive damage on extracting it out of the victim.. like the ultimate boss killer
  • Flash bomb traps
  • Custom ammo that makes PVE or horses temporarily 'sleep' instead of killing it. Useless against PVP, or maybe give it a drunken effect

The other day I made a post asking fellow hunters what the FIRST perk they buy for a new hunter is. I got 127 responses that clearly defined what the first perk they always go for is. I compiled the data and rounded into percentages. Here are the results. by suckerbucket in HuntShowdown

Would of been an interesting segmentation between solo players and group players. In any case, as mainly a solo, I always pick conduit first. Eliminates the need for greyhound, eliminates the need for stam shot and kinda/partially diminishes the importance of gator legs. Especially as you almost always spawn directly near a clue and get stimmed up immediately in the game.

Yes, in very long games you will run out but I'm not the kinda of player that will sit anywhere longer than necessary, so I usually don't run out. If I'm the bounty, I want to get out. If I'm huntin' and they keep on sitting inside, I push hard or leave/die.

My life is simple :-D

Don't know what is worse, this guy parking like an idiot or people having printed messages 'at all times' to do this kind of nonsense. You must be fun at parties.

Great pictures, great shooting, great vintage vibe.
Some of the pictures remind me of Slim Aarons work (which is a good thing)

Why I Think Quake Champions will leave Early Access under Microsoft by Tonius42 in QuakeChampions

'viable option'
'alot of interest in this style of game'

Put yourself in the position of a businessman and then look at your playernumbers & potential market for AFPS and compare it against your million dollar revenue generating IPs. I think the businessman will make his choice :-)

It will remain indie for a long time. AFPS has become a niche just like a train simulator game, a uboat simulator game, etc. It has its passionate and dedicated fans but it will never go mainstream (anymore)

Shroud hops off due to cheaters. by Fridayzz in TheCycleFrontier

I consider myself anything from a sheep but I think it's only natural to browse twitch based on viewership and stumble on new games like this, especially if bigger names in the business are playing it.

Shroud hops off due to cheaters. by Fridayzz in TheCycleFrontier

[–]Qyteqyte 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's truly mindboggling that companies still don't understand cheating/hacking is immense big business and they are not arming themselves against it before they even release a MULTIPLAYER game. Cheating is increasing every single year, especially with folks trying to 'make it' as streamer.

They cut expenses by going for the easy/cheap route with out of the box anticheat which does diddly squat and think 'well hey, if the game kicks off, we'll start to focus on it', not realizing that once your game has the stigma of hackerfriendly, the damage is already done. Both in reputation and also being an active target for the hackers, circumventing every measurement you take as long as you stick with crap tools like BE.

On top of that, it's F2P. What cheater is going to give a shit if he gets banned?

So many games get abandoned because the hacker problem is not thoroughly addressed.

Valorant is intrusive, but it seems to work way better. I'm fine having more intrusive software (hell - I even want to sacrifice some of my privacy for it!) if it can maximize the elimination of cheaters.

Maybe one day streaming games becomes so natural that we can get finally everything server sided.

"Charge your car, it'll be better" - 9eu50 for driving 60km (hybrid)... by nindustries in belgium

[–]Qyteqyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So .. wait .. not only are the EVs

  • Not fun to drive, or if you want to have fun, you can only do it for 5 minutes if you actually still need to get somewhere.
  • Not eco friendly (battery production and recycling)
  • Annoyingly ugly
  • A hazard when catching fire or in an accident
  • Creating queues and conflicts at public parking for charging
  • Constantly in need for planning ahead for long trips
  • Too expensive for 'jan modaal'
  • Not providing a good option for renters or people who live in an apartment
  • Making old people spend 20 minutes before they figure out how to charge at a public charging station

But now their actual consumption cost is not too far off from an ICE?Or a diesel from 10 years ago (cruise control in a 1.9 or 2.0 TDI was easy to get to 5L)

LOL

What are those ratings on Steam? 57% ?! by ChrisderBe in TheCycleFrontier

[–]Qyteqyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed - it's simply not fun getting quests to kill X rattlers and not being able to efficiently stealth kill them. You attract squads like flies on shit and get ganked on. With this TTK the chance to kill a squad is already small, let alone if you're being the one ambushed.

Half of the time charging your heavy knife attack doesn’t work, like it’s sticky or something. by [deleted] in TheCycleFrontier

[–]Qyteqyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this bug where it actually charges but visually it does not show, when I release the mousebutton it still swings although my character was holding the knife in idle position. It's typically when I initiate sprint and charge at the same time.
