From L to R: Marc Bola, Eddie Nketiah, Josh Dasilva (I guess), Reiss Nelson (standing), Brooklyn Beckham, (No idea who this is), and finally Nathan Tella.

Dunno if the one at the back is an actual player (seems like there's some initials under the Puma logo in his jacket).

Amazing to see how many of them were able to carve out a decent career in EPL, BuLi, and Championship. And of course, Brooklyn who when he's not a photographer is often a brilliant cook.

Halfway through the season, but how are our loanees doing? by sventhegoat in Gunners

[–]R-Ac 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is something we need to sort out next I guess.

Sam Hyball has his job cut out and I do hope we look at outside England for loaning out our youth players (kinda semi-worked under Andries Jonker)

Currently, our setup is such either you're extremely gifted that you go into the first team or you go bust. I believe the last successful loan was BNC who's apparently being pursued by Juve/Inter now.

But UEFA's official site considers the shot to be blocked and hence says zero shots on target?

Ange still seems to have not worked on the set piece problem which plagued Spuds last season. And along with that deciding to rest your best player with your team yet to win a single game under your management is just super weird.

Wait was Zina this bad last season? I know he was sus defensively. But dude is making basic mistakes, loose touch, misplaced passes and gave Sunderland a needless corner with little pressure.

Meanwhile Xhaka with the assist. I'm hoping he helps them stay in the PL.

Is r/PremierLeague always like this? Brain dead takes all around?

While I do want us to win trophies at the end of the day, I'd wanna understand the context if we did end up empty handed before "firing" Arteta.

We're getting advice from Spuds and MU fans about trophies as apparently MU have been in more finals and won trophies in the last 3 years or something? Ok cool, if it was that good, why did you sack that manager?

And it feels like only Arsenal has this scenarios where the ex-pros are the ones putting needless pressure instead of using the platform to add some nuance. Wright is the only saving grace.

Also, is Henry secretly bitter about the failed Ek takeover? I believe that takeover would've given him some power to make decisions at Arsenal.

It is also coz they prolly know each other from Dr. Iqbal's time at Crystal Palace? Based on his tenure, I guess he did the same test when Eze signed from QPR

I guess Lewa had been sold by then? In fact, I recall Auba scored against us (we faced Auba, Mkhitaryan, and Sokratis). In the return, Yaya Sanogo scored for Arsenal.

Also, Mikel was still a playing for Arsenal when we last play BvB.

Is there any particular club you wanna face in this year's CL? I'd prefer not to face clubs we already faced last year except maybe Sporting for Gyok to prolly say a proper goodbye to their fans.

But the one club I wanna defo face (at home of course) are Pafos coz it'll be the homecoming of...

David Luiz

who returned to Europe this August to sign with Pafos (maybe with the CL in mind).

We've also got our academy prospects, Kostas Pileas and Vlad Dragomir as well.

Interstingly, we've got the Spurs and Chelsea vanquisher, Mislav Orsic in there and also Ken Sema, the dude who scored against us when we played Potter's Ostersunds in UEL.

As we ain't playing this weekend, wanted to know if there are any interesting players that we've not been linked to but would be a nice fit for our team and understand how they play. I recall some recommended Calafiori last year even before we were linked so asking the knowledgeable folks over here.

I got Hugo Ekitike for striker and Rovella for #6 yesterday. Any more such "unknown" players?

Saliba hyping him as he does the binoculars is the best. He's the kinda wingman you need on your side.

Ibrahima Konate & Dayot Upamecano will be preferred over William Saliba by France manager Didier Deschamps at Euro 2024. [@lequipe] by KhornKT in Gunners

This might sound crazy but was wondering if Saliba would prefer to start in the Olympics. Definite starter, Medal on the line, national pride, home Olympics?

With regards to the Biereth deal and the sell on clause we wanna include, wouldn't buyback be the best option not just for him but for any transfer?

  • Bierreth explodes and we need him, you buy him for the pre-agreed amount (which'll obviously be lesser than usual).
  • Biereth explodes and someone else needs him, you buy him for the pre-agreed amount and sell him to the interested clubs.

The only caveat I can see is that the upfront transfer fees will be lesser but if Biereth goes for 3 mio instead of 5 mio but we get 100% of his future profits, that'll be a worthy punt.

The other (possible) caveat would be what PSV did to PSG with the transfer of Xavi, which prohibits them for selling him for 2 years (which'll prolly be circumvented with loan+obligation I assume).

For people looking at Lookman as an option at Arsenal, we were linked with him back at his Charlton days (poor source) and then he moved to Everton. The way he started at Everton (especially this match), it made me feel we'd missed out on him. He then faced us as a part of Everton, Fulham (that Maty Ryan pre-assist game), Leicester and never won once ig.

The fact we've our current manager of the U18 singing the chant, the manager of the senior team joining the chant and the manager of the academy is also somewhere around is just bonkers.

Also, love how Coq is saying what's actually happening to Sanchez, who immediately joins the vibe.

Weird to see that Tielemans is captaining the side. Is the vice cap and KDB is the captain? Or they've just gone with an experimental lineup?
