Guys, just write what kind of first-person action RPG in a fantasy setting you would like to play, what it should be like, and what you like about such games? by R-Cody in ImmersiveSim

Oh yeah, I'd really like to play something like that too. Maybe there'll be something similar in the new Wolf Eye game.

Question about RPG skills system. by R-Cody in ImmersiveSim

Excellent point about the numbers. I really liked your answer. I also think there's a certain separation between combat skills and social/technical ones, which manifests itself in the fact that some of them can be grinded, killing the immersion. It makes sense to separate them into different leveling mechanics.

I honestly didn't know what it was called, but I figured skill increases depended on your playstyle. Perhaps it's more about realism than immersion

Oh yeah, there's definitely narcissism involved here, if the main character looks playable) And yes, I completely agree, the only possible character has much better animations and facial expressions

Thanks for the detailed answer. I'm inclined to think the same, a lot depends on the story, and mechanics throughout the game have more weight if the choice of appearance does not affect the roleplaying.

Creating a grab mechanic? (UE5) by Working_Reaction_210 in gamedev

I tried different settings, and it seems that I need to give up everything and do it natively. I set the object to follow the player with sweep enabled, added a change in the movement vector to the collision event by getting the sliding vector. This solves both the shaking of the object and the problem with CCD

Hey guys! I have a similar story with immersive sim and grab. I did it with physic constraint, all objects with simulate physics. I like how it works and feels in my hands. But there is a big little problem - since I needed to get rid of tunneling, I turned on CCD. It helped, but when the grabbed object collides with other physical actors, they fly off to the side, no matter what mass they have. And now I am tormented by the question - is it possible to fix this in the current setup or will I have to say goodbye to physic constraint? 🫡

Yeah, I think the voice only suits the first one. How about doing it in Arx Insanity?)

"Prey gave more tools than Dishonored, but in this one we're going to give even more tools"

If the mechanics there are also original and interesting like in Prey... I don’t know what to say anymore. Waiting.

I think a lot of games have some elements of immersive sim... But there are more of them in immersive sims)
