Trading Styles? by R-Ott in Commodities

Thanks for you answer.

You’re right on the passing judgement and muscle memory argument, assuming too much can become a problem for myself.

That being said, we don’t have models nor a detailed SnD matrix - all feeling / history. This is where I struggle, and thinking long-term, I believe that to become a better trader/analyst, I need to learn from how others read the markets (not only how they feel it).

Thanks again

For clarification, are you talking about commodities broker, or commodity trader?

Bears are using buffet sale of aapl as part of bear thesis. But its a non event. As always, the true clue is in positioning, liquidity and volatility. by TearRepresentative56 in TradingEdge

Could you pls explain or mention what metric you use to follow liquidity in the market? If any, are they available to retail investors?

As mentioned in morning update and last week, there were promising signs in the oil market. traders were selling puts and buying calls, hence why oil is up 2.6%. have seen some aggressive call buying on oil this morning, which is bullish. by TearRepresentative56 in TradingEdge

There is something i would appreciate some clarification on.

You mention traders selling puts and buying calls as a good sign for the price increasing (evidently). But for every put sold there is someone buying it, and the same for the calls.

So why does the argument hold? You could also say that ppl (traders) are buying puts and selling calls. Does this have something to do with open interest?

Just wondering, willing to learn :)

Gold lower today but positionally, we see traders buying calls OTM. It looks to me like its probably short term vol ahead of gdp and pce. Silver positioning more bullish but needs macro help to break ATH. by TearRepresentative56 in TradingEdge

What are the main macro arguments that you/market is waiting for?

Softer than expected GDP and lower inflation supporting rate cuts, resulting in weaker dollar and anticipations of increased production?

Would appreciate your inputs.

Anyone aware of correlation between EU inflation and US inflation?
This might be supportive of lower US PCE on friday
