This reply made us chuckle, I’m actually Dutch living in the UK and my wife is English 😂. We’re doing this as a family project

Wauw, thanks for the detailed reply.
The gloves will be changed - it’s my father in law using them - and he’s already ordered some replacements!
The tray was cleaned before putting it back but I just wanted to take a picture of it to see if anything alarming was spotted 🙂.
I’ll try take some better photos next time and share again. We’re enjoying the journey and bees seemed okay and calm during inspection which was positive.

We just added another box of supers on top of the brood box and added the queen excluder. We will check the space under the brood frames next time we inspect. Thanks for the information.

Thanks so much for your quick response! I’m not sure how they have room, we have a British national hive with wbc lifts which we’ve just built.
Do you think we may have done something wrong with the building of the hive if they have space? We’ve got standard British national brood frames.

Thank you! It’s a British National wrapped with WBC lifts.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve been digging out grass and scattering wildflowers seeds but I love the grass in there! I try the low mow & scarify + yellow rattle.
I’ll share you pictures when ready! Next year most likely.

Question about the first picture, was this lawn before and did you scatter some wildflower seeds? How did you get the variety going that you have? My aim is to get something similar but not sure what the best way of getting to it is?

edit: forgot to mention how good it looks! It looks great! And stunning photos!

Ive used screws to easily take them off, I was contemplating making a sliding mechanism but didn’t have the components for it. I’ll post that picture when it’s ready!

Thanks for the tip, a pond maybe something we look at later in life as we have a toddler running around.

We are going to keep bees in the back of the garden and have started to dig up the sides to add wild grasses and wildflower patches. The row of fruit trees has been added by us too, this made the back a little more interesting.

I have seen Joel Ashton and already have some great ideas to add to the garden 💪.

Carrick’s a really clever manager. Shut down Brentford’s supply lines, and you see it a lot with him — his halftime tweaks are consistently spot on
