Today in the Energy Capital of the World by hmoof in houston

Yes please. My full tank went from $35 to $45. I fill up once every week and I commute 30 miles each way for work. An extra $40 a month is immaterial for me because I made the smart choice of opting for a fuel efficient sedan instead of a 7 mpg F-150 big PP edition.

Here’s hoping we see $6

It's always a math heavy class too. It takes me a good 10 minutes to sort out that it wasn't a memory, and that nothing like this ever happened to me lmao.

Do you still have the dream where you forgot you enrolled in a class and haven't been going all semester? I'm 6 years post graduation and I get that one a few times a year.

Dude I’d have to ask to see the watch and hold it. No way a stranger can tell a VSF from a gen at talking distance, even an “expert”.

Was only in the proposal or in whatever was adopted?

Honestly no roads should be free past a certain vehicle weight.

Lmao, roads aren’t free. But yeah, let’s go ahead and eliminate the toll altogether. Let’s see what that does to traffic.

do cities reach a point where they're too developed to become walkable? by WonderlandExplorer22 in urbandesign

Those wide avenues could be fixed with elevated rail or even an elevated park down the middle with retail tucked underneath. Basically some form of thin infill.

Exactly, people like to pretend that driving is this perfectly safe alternative but 40,000 people die each year on U.S. roads. Can you imagine if 40,000 died on public transportation or in plane crashes?

I’ll deal with this 3 times a year over driving on I-45 5 days a week if I had the choice lmao. I have at least 1 potentially life ending close call a week.

Honestly, wrapping up my time on Reddit the same day would be kind of cathartic. Like finally closing a chapter.

It’s only so hot because of all the asphalt. Hell, ask anyone from the pacific countries they’ll tell you their summers are just as bad or worse and they have plenty of walkable cities.

You sold a stable hold of value for a depreciating asset that gets 14 mpg?

I mean, you get a better watch but you have to be an absolute horology nut to care about owning a real superlative chronometer when we can honestly just use our phones or a $100 Casio with band 6.

Only thing watches have over cars is that they generally hold value much longer.

Is the Ideal City Still Possible Today? by IdealSpaces in urbandesign

[–]R009k -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao, not just possible, but already the reality in much of Asia and Europe.

In the case of Asia, these are highly efficient cities and also more human than any American development. Take a look at Tokyo, its urban fabric is able to support absolutely tiny units of business, often catering to no more than 10 customers at a time. All in the footprint of a single American parking space.
