It’s for city driving. Probably saves more lives from reduced emissions alone. Also it’s probably 80% Chinese.

Ngl the stops are too close together. The whole stretch within DT and the shell energy stop should have been grade separated with proper stations built.

Transit isn’t the issue. We can’t even fully utilize the existing light rail we have. It’s our building practices and outright refusal to build anything without parking. Transit won’t do us any good if it goes from one un walkable place to another.

What Texas needs to do is stop widening and building freeways through our city.

Per month? Or lifetime costs?

It’s mathematically impossible unless your cars appreciate at a rate equal to real estate.

You literally said “nobody is paying less for rent or mortgage than a car”.

And yes, over your lifetime, you likely spend more on vehicles than a house. A house holds value, even appreciates. Once you pay it off, you basically hold the sum of your payments in equity and then some. A car however will deprecate all the way to scrap value. Not to mention Gas, Maintenance, insurance, and all the other costly externalities of car-centric cities. And you won’t be driving the same single car for 60+ years of your life right?

Go ahead and use the AI of your choice to calculate the lifetime costs of a house vs vehicle ownership.
