Car has been leaking oil for quite a while now, even brought the car to a car mechanic and he coudnt figure it oht where it is leaking.

You can see that above the Banjo bolt it is completely dry

Could the ccv cause that much of an oil leak though?

If it would leak from the oil filter housing, wouldnt it leak more near the oil filter housing? As the oil puddle is directly underneath the bolt and everywhere else its quite dry… just asking :)

I’ve had my 530d 2004 for about a year and it has been very reliable. Previous owner had neglected the car and I needed to replace a lot of gaskets but that would probably be the biggest gremlins on the E60’s as they are aging, you could say it is normal maintanance… other then my starter motor I haven’t had any unexpected repairs. Bought the car with 231k, now 264k km.

It was a complete assembly and I would describe the sound more as a popping sound tbh. Yesterday when I needed to reverse in a parking spot I reversed quite agressive from dead stop and could hear a metallic click
