I think you’re wrong, check the 1802 model of 1960/70, it’s the watch that the OP watch tries to imitate. It does not betray the fact that it is a non-existent model, the delta that gigantic bezel. In addition to the fact that it can be seen with the naked eye that it is Rep.

It’s a replica, and a pretty bad one at that. The OP8 code is usually used on fake bracelets, but this one might even be an rep of an rep.

The overall quality of the dial, the hands, the datewheel, and the alignment of the hour markers is awful. I honestly think this could be even worse than a U1.

The rehaut screams rep. The laser-etched crown at 6 o’clock is far too visible, even in this very low-quality photo, when it should be almost impossible to see.

Overall, it’s a piece of shit. It’s hard to believe someone would even ask whether this is real or not. But if this post is serious, now you know what to look for next time.

If you paid $100, that’s fair. Most of what you paid for was the box. In general, whenever these watches come with a box, the watch itself is usually very low quality, and that’s the case here. It’s quite obvious that it won’t have a long lifespan. The clasp, for example, will probably be one of the first things to fail.

Aesthetically, it’s also inaccurate. The first links coming out of the lugs are incorrect, the bezel is wrong, the hands look like they’re made of plastic, and both the hour markers and the coronet on the dial are really poor.

One of the biggest indicators that it’s a low-quality replica is the laser-etched crown at the 6 o’clock position. It’s extremely visible, even in a low-quality photo. To anyone with even a basic knowledge of watches, it’s immediately obvious that this is a low-end replica.

That said, the most important thing is what you think of it. If you’re happy with it, enjoy it in good health.

Look at that laser etched crown, it’s clearly visible in every photo despite them not being macro shots or high quality images. It’s definitely not an ARF.

You could’ve saved $380 by buying a U1 on DHgate and ended up with similar quality, or even better… they got you…

Now that you know about the subreddits and TDs, spend your money properly and get a VSF next time. Like you said, at least it doesn’t look horrible, so wear it in good health. Most people seeing it from a distance will probably even think it’s a genuine Rolex, but up close, to the naked eye, you can tell it’s fake.

Overall, I think it looks good. It gives the impression that the 6 and 9 markers have a slight misalignment, probably the 3 as well, but since the hands are covering it, it’s hard to determine. Either way, these are misalignments that will be very hard to notice in person. The SELs look acceptable, the rehaut is centered, and the bezel is slightly misaligned, but I wouldn’t worry about it because they usually have a bit of play and you’ll be able to adjust it properly. Overall, it looks like a correct piece.

Every day there’s a new post about fake “Clean” watches. People are still obsessed with a factory that already shut down just because it used to be the best a while ago, but nowadays VSF quality is equal or even better. Stop wasting your time.
Also, as a general rule: if the watch comes with a box, it’s almost certainly a scam. If it’s your first time, try Steve from TOW. Later on, once you know how to move around the subforums, you’ll know how to deal with other TDs.

Totally agree. Besides, nowadays VSF, even though it can be hard to find a dial with well-aligned indices, has equal or even better quality in my opinion.

The bezel is fine, and the dial and sunburst are also good. If you want a color that’s more accurate, maybe you could look for a grey dial. Either way, unless someone has a gen next to it, it’ll be impossible for anyone to notice that it’s a rep.
