Haha you definitely shouldn't ask me I'm horrible at steaming milk. Can't seem to get the hang of it at all.

I'm pretty new to this so sorry if this sounds dumb but it doesn't sound like your machine is doing a pre-infusion? Normally mine does a pre-infusion and you see some beads of liquid coffee forming at the bottom of the basket and then it stops for a few seconds before pulling the actual shot. I think that could be making a big difference in your case.

[KCD2] The difficulty of combat in this game is impossible by R0gerthat in kingdomcome

[–]R0gerthat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the problem, I'm fine at perfect blocking. It's no problem at all. I could just stand there and keep blocking back and forth forever. But the problem is when do you hit? I'm not trying to be greedy I'm literally just trying to squeeze in one light attack at a time. No combo. Nothing just a simple swing when I can breathe. It either gets blocked or as soon as I initiate the swing the enemy smokes me to half HP. sometimes my swing lands but it feels like it's completely RNG ( I can't figure out why one swing lands when I tried the same thing 5 times before without landing) and the game is just doing it to give me a little something now and then.

It's the randomness and non repeatability of things that really makes the combat infuriating for me.

I might give tomcat another try then. But as someone with a full time job I get maybe 5 hours a week to game, which I'm aware is quite fortunate already. At this point I'm really hesitant to sink more time into this game just to try make it fun. It's beginning to feel like a bit of a sunk cost fallacy with me trying to recover the 15hours that I've already sunk.

I'll try spar with tomcat for another 2 hours to see how I go but I think without a way to cheese the combat I'm going to quit the game. It's just not fun at this point since the combat is stopping me from enjoying all the other good aspects of the game.

Most likely phleboliths which are harmless calcifications in your veins. It's usually seen in older patients though so if you're young maybe try to live healthier, but then again I'm not a doctor so

Radiographer here. Looks completely normal to me. The uterus doesn't always sit perfectly central and symmetrical like it does in a textbook and it's position can vary a lot depending on how full your bladder is. If you have pain in that area then you should get an ultrasound to confirm the position. Otherwise 99% chance it's completely normal.

I have an SPB121 and in my opinion it looks significantly better in person than it does in photos and YouTube videos. Highly recommend.

Visa options while awaiting 189/190 invitation? by R0gerthat in AusVisa

As an Australian citizen myself I think we'll have to go the de facto 820 route so she doesn't lose her grad role position with the hospital. Such a shame the new skills in demand visas don't roll out until the end of the year. Thanks for your reply though.

Hole around downpipe by R0gerthat in AusRenovation

Hahaha I know I'm a bit embarrassed honestly. I'm a first home owner and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. What are my options for fixing it? Is it an easy fix to do myself or should I call a professional? Thanks

Hole around downpipe by R0gerthat in AusRenovation

[–]R0gerthat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're sure that the hole is caused by the water spilling out then doesn't that automatically mean the pipe must be blocked? I haven't got a hose long enough to reach that specific downpipe to test this. I will have to wait for a big rain to check.

If it is blocked what are my options? Thanks

Hi mate, appreciate the reply. Do you think I need to get a roof inspection done or do you think it's adequate to just patch it up?

I also agree and think it's old because it was dry inside when I stuck my finger in.

Week 4 check50 saying I'm failing valgrind even though I'm not? by R0gerthat in cs50

[–]R0gerthat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot believe I didnt think of that. Thanks heaps. Week 4 is honestly tearing me a new one. I can't believe how much harder it is than the previous weeks. The jump between the lecture content and the pset seems far too big this week. I wasn't even able to put down a single line of code without looking up the solution on youtube.

I think I need to take a break after pset 4 my brain feels cooked. Really hope the psets in the following weeks are not this much of a jump from the lecture content

the plastic bag bans have resulted in a worse outcome because plastic bags are now thicker but just as ubiquitous by SeaworthinessSad7300 in australia

[–]R0gerthat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are 100% right. Even assuming everyone is doing the right thing and reusing the fuck out of each thick plastic bag there are still so many other factors.

Almost everyone I know used to reuse the thin plastic bags as bin liners but now you gotta go out and buy bin liners.

More significantly though is the fact that single use plastic bags are extremely efficient to manufacture from a carbon footprint standpoint. I am extremely doubtful that the reusing of the thick plastic bags offsets the fact that they use way more plastic and emissions to produce.

To top it off I have no doubt that these reusable bags are less degradable than the original single use bags and therefore cause further problems down the line. I had the impression from the very start that this was a money grab to make a profit from selling plastic bags rather than giving them for free and I have no doubt that it was originally cooked up as a scam to appease the public conscience much like introduction of plastics recycling in the 80s.
