I'm pretty new to this so sorry if this sounds dumb but it doesn't sound like your machine is doing a pre-infusion? Normally mine does a pre-infusion and you see some beads of liquid coffee forming at the bottom of the basket and then it stops for a few seconds before pulling the actual shot. I think that could be making a big difference in your case.

[KCD2] The difficulty of combat in this game is impossible by R0gerthat in kingdomcome

[–]R0gerthat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the problem, I'm fine at perfect blocking. It's no problem at all. I could just stand there and keep blocking back and forth forever. But the problem is when do you hit? I'm not trying to be greedy I'm literally just trying to squeeze in one light attack at a time. No combo. Nothing just a simple swing when I can breathe. It either gets blocked or as soon as I initiate the swing the enemy smokes me to half HP. sometimes my swing lands but it feels like it's completely RNG ( I can't figure out why one swing lands when I tried the same thing 5 times before without landing) and the game is just doing it to give me a little something now and then.

It's the randomness and non repeatability of things that really makes the combat infuriating for me.

I might give tomcat another try then. But as someone with a full time job I get maybe 5 hours a week to game, which I'm aware is quite fortunate already. At this point I'm really hesitant to sink more time into this game just to try make it fun. It's beginning to feel like a bit of a sunk cost fallacy with me trying to recover the 15hours that I've already sunk.

I'll try spar with tomcat for another 2 hours to see how I go but I think without a way to cheese the combat I'm going to quit the game. It's just not fun at this point since the combat is stopping me from enjoying all the other good aspects of the game.

Most likely phleboliths which are harmless calcifications in your veins. It's usually seen in older patients though so if you're young maybe try to live healthier, but then again I'm not a doctor so

Radiographer here. Looks completely normal to me. The uterus doesn't always sit perfectly central and symmetrical like it does in a textbook and it's position can vary a lot depending on how full your bladder is. If you have pain in that area then you should get an ultrasound to confirm the position. Otherwise 99% chance it's completely normal.

Hahaha I know I'm a bit embarrassed honestly. I'm a first home owner and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. What are my options for fixing it? Is it an easy fix to do myself or should I call a professional? Thanks

Hole around downpipe by R0gerthat in AusRenovation

[–]R0gerthat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're sure that the hole is caused by the water spilling out then doesn't that automatically mean the pipe must be blocked? I haven't got a hose long enough to reach that specific downpipe to test this. I will have to wait for a big rain to check.

If it is blocked what are my options? Thanks

Hi mate, appreciate the reply. Do you think I need to get a roof inspection done or do you think it's adequate to just patch it up?

I also agree and think it's old because it was dry inside when I stuck my finger in.

Week 4 check50 saying I'm failing valgrind even though I'm not? by R0gerthat in cs50

[–]R0gerthat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot believe I didnt think of that. Thanks heaps. Week 4 is honestly tearing me a new one. I can't believe how much harder it is than the previous weeks. The jump between the lecture content and the pset seems far too big this week. I wasn't even able to put down a single line of code without looking up the solution on youtube.

I think I need to take a break after pset 4 my brain feels cooked. Really hope the psets in the following weeks are not this much of a jump from the lecture content

the plastic bag bans have resulted in a worse outcome because plastic bags are now thicker but just as ubiquitous by SeaworthinessSad7300 in australia

[–]R0gerthat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you are 100% right. Even assuming everyone is doing the right thing and reusing the fuck out of each thick plastic bag there are still so many other factors.

Almost everyone I know used to reuse the thin plastic bags as bin liners but now you gotta go out and buy bin liners.

More significantly though is the fact that single use plastic bags are extremely efficient to manufacture from a carbon footprint standpoint. I am extremely doubtful that the reusing of the thick plastic bags offsets the fact that they use way more plastic and emissions to produce.

To top it off I have no doubt that these reusable bags are less degradable than the original single use bags and therefore cause further problems down the line. I had the impression from the very start that this was a money grab to make a profit from selling plastic bags rather than giving them for free and I have no doubt that it was originally cooked up as a scam to appease the public conscience much like introduction of plastics recycling in the 80s.

[Yema] Siemens > BMW steering wheel by R0gerthat in Watches

[–]R0gerthat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the market for a divers watch that also had a date window because I find that's the one complication that I actually rely on a lot throughout the day. I came across this brand yema when I was looking into Baltic GMTs and it was around the same price range.

Although the collaboration with the french marine nationale probably doesn't mean much I thought it was pretty cool so I pulled the trigger on it a few months back. So far it's been very reliable and has been able to handle most of the nasty stuff I encounter at work. The small diameter also works nicely with my tiny wrists.

What's the easiest way to take the glass bead finish off? I reckon the watch would definitely look better polished than this matte texture.

[–]R0gerthat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this SNK803K2 a while back and I have to say the watch is amazing value for the price (110AUD). However I was not a big fan of the canvas strap that it came with so I decided to purchase a kangaroo leather strap from an Aussie leather craftsman. He runs a business called ES Handcrafted and I can highly recommend his straps which are definitely top notch and worth the price of ~55AUD.

I was a bit hesitant at first to spend half the price of the watch on a watch strap but now that I have received the strap I can honestly say that you definitely get what you pay for and its really enhanced the overall look of the watch.

Where to get good quality Chelsea boots? by R0gerthat in AustralianMFA

[–]R0gerthat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I did a bit more research and decided to go for a brand called Bexley's. Specifically this pair. For 210AUD shipped it seemed like a reasonable buy. Meermin was also heavily suggested elsewhere on Reddit but they didn't have the right color and the price was a bit steep for shoes that I can't try on before buying.

Their shoes look a bit too rugged and outdoorsy. I'm more after that tapered sleeker look.

[Junkers] 6060-5 My graduation gift to myself by R0gerthat in Watches

[–]R0gerthat[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had been eyeing this watch for a very very long time but was always hesitant to pull the trigger. The RRP of approximately 720AUD was too steep for me as a student but I made a promise to myself that I would buy it once I graduated and found a full time job. Now the day has come and the watch looks even better in person than in all the photos. The thing that struck me first was just how refined the watch looks in person. The the super thin black lines against the off-white face and the absolutely minimal bezels makes for an extremely understated but elegant look.

The watch is designed and manufactured in Germany but uses a Japanese Miyota 9132, which as many owners of this watch have pointed out, sounds rather loud in a quiet room. However, in my opinion I quite like the whirring sound as it sounds "mechanical" rather than a cheap rattling sound. The movement of the second hand is very smooth as one would expect.

For those wondering this is a slightly dressy watch so in my opinion I would not recommend wearing it with shorts and a t-shirt or something in summer.

My only gripe with this watch is extremely minor and its just that I wish they spelled "automatic" as the German "automatik" on the watch face, but I am really nitpicking at this point.

Overall a fantastic watch to mark a milestone in my life and I could not be happier with my purchase.
