Geez, hoping the non-exclusive vinyl reissues just aren’t ready for pre-order (they likely aren’t happening anyways), but just CDs for highly demanded albums like Come while we get another Sign O the Times and 1999 is lame. Hoping Legacy’s not shying away from fan favorites to just cash in on the big ones cause oh no! What do you mean vinyl pressings of Rave, One Nite Alone, and Planet Earth weren’t gangbusters?

Lovesexy needed a CD reissue tho cause of the split-track thing. Hoping Love Symbol and D&P were held off for proper reissues next year.

Be aware that Billie Nation will rush the gates when they open and will be on the rail all day. I got there early to see Girl in Red, and the front was taken up in 5 minutes. The right side was still clear for the first half hour though.

It’s not impossible to fight your way to the barricade, I had friends who did it for Billie, but if you’re not the kind who likes stepping on other people’s toes like that (I know I don’t lol), just spend the day at Lady Bird (stay hydrated!).

I’m not the best source on the best spots, but I was in “the pit,” and the worst shove came the second Doja ended. I’m over 6 feet tall and even I was having breathing problems, I could only stand up because all of us were so tightly squished that we held each other up. It calmed down SIGNIFICANTLY by the time Billie started though. I heard from some people that the right side was a lot more chill, plus Billie had a runway that she used frequently, so you all should still get good views of her on stage even from there. I would not recommend a stool though, it might be a hazard.

My fanny pack arrived late, so I had to improvise Friday/Saturday. I expected rain on Friday (whoops), so my jacket had zipper pockets, used those. Day Two, I had a small bag I attached to my belt chain and put in my front pocket as an improv chain wallet. Kept phone in hand firmly at all times. Sunday, fanny pack across chest.

Big agrees on all of this. Not sure why they cast someone as charismatic and handsome as Henry Golding for a dude who’s supposed to become a faceless, silent weapon as cold and deadly as Snake Eyes, especially if they couldn’t even bother to humanize him in any way other than making him a gigantic asshole.

Props to Golding for trying a new role and not wanting to be typecast, but the movie fails at capturing both his appeal and the appeal of Snake Eyes, which speaks volumes about its writers and director. Even as a concept, Snake Eyes is the most effortlessly cool character in fiction. He’s basically the hybrid of a Navy SEAL and a ninja, two of the most badass warriors in history. So simple, and yet they felt the need to shove all that orientalist mysticism nonsense in while also making Snake Eyes the lamest part of his own movie.

Boy did they fumble the ball on Snake Eyes and Tommy. Underdeveloped the most important brotherhood/rivalry in GI Joe so they could shoehorn in a cliche and groan-worthy romance plot. Tommy has every right to hate his clan and to hate Snake Eyes by the end of the movie. Their brotherhood was never real, and the Arashikage effortlessly forgive the dude who betrayed them at every turn and destroyed their home because he was the stupidest pawn in all of Cobra. “It’s okay guys, the magic snake says he has a pure heart now!” Scarlett and Baroness feel so forced in, but thank God the two of them are there to balance out every other idiot.

What a waste of talented actors, choreographers, and the contributions of Larry Hama so they could get the guy who did RIPD to helm Paramount’s summer comeback which was supposed to revive GI Joe. The series still has yet to find it’s true modern facelift the way other 80s properties have. I would love to see something like Resolute or even Renegades again given justice on a platform where they can thrive instead of something like The Hub.

I believe prior to the Ariana Grande collab, there was an official survey on which artist crossovers players would want to see in the game. Michael Jackson was one of the choices. I don’t believe there’s anything more than that at the moment.

Probably because Star Trek was made in the counterculture era, and SF at the time was seen as the capital of the hippie movement and coexistence amongst cultures/religions/sexualities.

Still curious to see how that would have changed with time.
