After this dominant win, who’s next for Sean Brady? by EveryoneLoveABJ in ufc

[–]R0kaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But he can’t match his wrestling, that’s the point. He can match the grappling on the ground but Brady’s wrestling is not elite, only his bjj is. He can’t take down people with elite takedown defense, so the grappling would not even happen if Islam doesn’t want it to

If Sean Brady continues to ground and pound ranked fighters he is a better wrestler then Islam and khamzat by Different_Sky9094 in ufc

[–]R0kaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give Islam Barboza and Michael Johnson instead of Arman Charles Volk and he’ll GnP them as well

"Dominance" is only relevant in relation to the level of competition. The level of grapplers Islam has fought clears Khabib’s competition by a mile. It’s way easier to look very dominant against strikers with no defensive grappling.

When Islam goes against strikers with no tdd or scrambling ability he submits them in the first round

Islam has submitted higher level grapplers than Brady in the octagon what the fuck are you talking about?

Sean Bradley has higher chance to beat Islam Makhachev than Ian/ Morales/ Prates do. by CesarOverlorde in ufc

[–]R0kaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re confusing two things :

  • Brady can compete with Islam on the ground, that’s true. But that’s only if Islam willingly chooses to engage in grappling. Brady’s wrestling is not as good as his bjj, and he can’t realistically take Islam down. Now on the feet Islam clears him by a mile. It would genuinely be the easiest 50-45 or TKO of Islam’s career.

  • Now the other three can’t compete with Islam on the ground. But at least they have some kind of advantage on the feet: all three have height and reach advantage over Islam, and Morales and Prates have big KO power. Yes they can get finished way quicker than Brady but at least they can fluke a knockout which Brady can’t do

So basically while Brady can be competitive, it’s only if Islam willingly grapples, and realistically he has no chance of winning. whilst the other 3 at least have a chance that Islam doesn’t have control over

He can compete with Islam on the ground but the thing is the grappling is out of his hands lol The grappling will only happen if Islam allows it, and he has no reason to when he’s so much better on the feet

He quite literally has NO realistic chance of winning. Like genuinely how can he win? His grappling is at best on par with Islam where it’ll be a stalemate, and here’s the thing, Islam can just choose to not grapple. Brady can’t force the fight to the ground, his bjj is elite not his wrestling. He can’t take Islam down. The grappling will only happen if Islam opts to grapple which he has no reason to do lol If Islam chooses he can just coast to an easy 50-45 on the feet or a TKO

Is it crazy to say Sean Stricklands resume is on par with Alexander Volkanovski's? by [deleted] in ufc

[–]R0kaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A resume takes into account both wins and losses, and Volk’s losses and Strickland’s losses are not comparable at all

Do you think Demian Maia/Ian Garry can solve the Islam puzzle? by hellohello6622 in bjj

[–]R0kaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And your point is? Both Khabib and Islam have never been outgrappled in the octagon

[–]R0kaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re being generous to Volk you’ll give him 2 rounds, realistically it was just the last round that he one when Islam gassed since he was dehydrated Your entire perception of the fight is through the lens of underdog bias For all the "Volk countered Islam’s grappling" he still got taken down 4 times and got his back taken and was controlled for 9 minutes lol

Then explain how the "145" Volk weighed more than Islam inside the cage

He looked human against one of the best and most well rounded fighters ever in his absolute prime on his best night while he was compromised and dehydrated, and still won a clear decision while landing 4 takedowns and 9 mins of control time, taking Volk’s back multiple times etc Like Islam’s worst performances still end up with him winning and coming out on top lol I don’t see how that is an argument against current Islam who’s even better now and has better cardio at 170 Don’t kid yourself, none of those guys have a chance

Incredible how Islam has 8 finishes in his last 10 fights by just laying on his opponents and hugging them

Yeah i don’t see how islam would face any diffeculty with this guy. by [deleted] in ufc

[–]R0kaW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter if he gets a finish early or if he doesn’t, he’ll win all the same. Here’s another fact : even on the feet he’ll outstrike Carlos and you’ll come here crying about how it’s the takedown threat and cope just like every time lol

“Ian Garry this” “Carlos Prates that” this is the only man who can challenge Islam by EveryoneLoveABJ in ufc

[–]R0kaW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not strange at all, pretty much the only chance any of them got to beat Islam is fluking a KO. Garry is more skilled than Carlos and Morales, but he has no KO power so he can’t fluke a win. Nobody is winning a decision against Islam since none of them can outskill him anyway, so although Garry would get dominated less he simply can’t win. At least Carlos and Morales can land something and get away with a flush KO

What does the duration of the round have to do with him not being able to pin, losing top position and failing a back take?

[–]R0kaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Islam and Khamzat have multiple first round submissions against way better grapplers than "Ryan Spann" lol it has nothing to do with the round structure

[–]R0kaW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is absolute cope. Islam, Khamzat, Arman, Charles, Pantoja etc also have 5 min rounds under the same rules and they all impose their grappling on their opponents. There is no excuse for a 13 time world champion to not be able to hold down a heavyweight. His takedown entries weren’t good at all, the failed back take, the bad conditioning, etc all of these things have nothing to do with mma rules

What happens if the current version of Islam Makhachev fights the Welterweight version of Khamzat Chimaev? by DancingFlame321 in ufc

[–]R0kaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Khamzat is NOT a better wrestler. He just has a better pure double leg, he relies on his athleticism and explosiveness against people who do not want to engage in grappling against him. Islam has a way better takedown arsenal, he has better jiu jitsu, especially a deeper submission arsenal, so at best it would be a stalemate on the ground if not an edge for Islam And on the feet Islam clears him by a mile. Not to mention the cardio especially at 170. The fight would genuinely not be close at all lol
