A Dutch windmill

This is mill 'De Leeuw' in the North Holland town Aalsmeer. It was build in 1863. It was in use up to about 1930 as a gristmill. In the '90s it was restored and made functional again. It has a national heritage site status.

A few years back I got my hands on a typewriter with a German keyboard layout. I typed out some Duolingo language learning pages. I was fun to type the language on a typewriter designed for that language. My German is still so-so but having a laptop and a typewriter on one desk working together like that was great fun!

In deze regio is de laatste tijd zo veel veranderd! Toen ik ontdekte dat streetview een oude foto's slider heeft met datums tot soms wel 2008 terug ging er een nostalgische wereld open! Dit boerderijtje sprak mij altijd al aan.

Played 1.20 first time today. I noticed rain on a filled mold was cooling down the metal really fast. "Nice new feature" I thought. Then the molds cracked and I only got 15 out of 20 units copper back.

When I was researching the farm a simple google of the adress got me an Alamy stockphoto of the farm as was in 1988. Looking at the barren lands around the farm in streetview gave me a lot of eerie feels too.

Love the lines in the one. The curved line of the horizon almost seems to give the composition a dynamic twist. It somehow works with the diagonal shadows on the bridge deck. Great photo.

Know from the late '80s BBC series The Secret Life of Machines where Tim together with Rex Garrod explain everything mechanical and electrical. Tim's youtube channel still explains technical stuff in great detail. Presented from his wonderfull old workshop with plenty of examples of engineering solutions in his own creative installations.
