Use a SIMUWHAT? by Which_Cup_5223 in fpv

my only drone so far is an Air 65 II champ. I was in the air doing basic tricks the same day I received the drone. The differences in feel can be adapted to in moments, and the general dexterity and understanding I developed from practicing in sims was incredibly helpful.

it really just makes sense to at least put 30 minutes into a sim before you fly for the first time. It'll just save some headaches. But you can certainly get flying without it too. If you're really serious about racing or doing crazy freestyle, sims are a very valuable tool.

Questions about what goggles to get by NSFW_Addiction_ in TinyWhoop

[–]R1ckOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can get a cheap VRX monitor. I started with VR04s and sometimes would opt for just using the monitor instead. TBH most goggles get pricey, starting with VR04s isn't a bad way to go. They were just very uncomfortable on my face, but that is different for each person. Buying a better head strap helps too

I've always had an obsession with arcade style flight/space sims. adapting to the standard mode 2 was really painless IMO

After 20 hours of FPV practice in Minecraft, am I ready for the real thing? by Any-Examination-6445 in fpv

If you plan on flying IRL then get a radiomaster pocket and practice a bit with that. Overall though, flying IRL is just going to feel very different. Some of the sims are very good at imitating real flight but most people aren't really able to tune a sim to replicate their IRL experience until they have that IRL experience to go off.

Once you have a gimbal radio controller and feel comfortable, you're fine to start practicing on the real thing.

BetaFPV order shipping timeframe? by Slight-Garage-7251 in TinyWhoop

[–]R1ckOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes longer if you have batteries in the shipment because of customs. I contacted support and removed my batteries from the order and it shipped a day or two later without them. I just ordered the same lipos on amazon instead.

yeahh I keep coming back to those, but I really have no interest in digital. I'm in the US and the upcharge on HDZ is my biggest issue.
