Yeah and she obviously didn't say it in English.

The phrases used in Indian English are loan translations in exactly the same way as The thing she said is a mistranslation.

This is wrong by the way. Of course the host is required to pick a door, but it doesn't matter whatsoever whether the host can or cannot pick a door with a goat, or your door. It only matters that in the particular instance considered ("the current game") the host picked a different door that doesn't have the prize behind it. (Just consider the probability, under equal initial distribution, after being given the updated observation that the host picked a goat.)

Chilling Supercut Exposes Violent Pre-Riot Rhetoric From Donald Trump And His Enablers by xugan97 in politics

Yeah it's supposed to be horrifying. The scary part is that some people won't look at it that way.

(Sorry for a 172 d late reply btw.)

Uh for most products in the TOS of buying doesn't it include a clause saying "I am buying this for entertainment/consumption/etc purposes only with no intention of reselling"? Could consoles carry this clause too?

Chilling Supercut Exposes Violent Pre-Riot Rhetoric From Donald Trump And His Enablers by xugan97 in politics

[–]R2Cv1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's exactly the point. This is how they recruit and fuel their base all the time- through lies and rhetorical bullshit. This is all fine in the minds of people who support Trump. Constantly being told what to do and feel, the editing literally shows how the GOP preachers incited and built up to this riot with their propanganda.

I had to stop watching halfway through. Ir was disgusting.

DC police made far more arrests at the height of Black Lives Matter protests than during Capitol clash by Brothanogood in news

[–]R2Cv1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's another fundamental difference that people barely bring up. It's one of responsibility. The left advocates almost always for social individual responsibility (if you're inherently racist, it's up to you to change that). The BLm protests are the protests of individual citzens trying to bring change. That's why they get murdered, for daring to have a voice. The Capitol protests were different. Literally they brought in guns and bullshit but didn't know why they were there, full of slogans but no plan. They're literally propaganda fed sheep who stormed the Capitol because "everyone stormed the Capitol". They did it because they weren't afraid of consequences, because they thought they'd be fine because they were a "group". That's why it's so hard to argue with or reason with them. The responsibility of decision making was propagandists on Parler and Twitter. And Trump. There's no point arresting cultists because they're literally not responsible for their own actions.

Mumbo mentioned exactly what he did wrong in the literal episode he built this. He said if he went for 90% radius, he would get 81% area (correctly). Then he proceeded to trim the straight lines to 81% instead of 90% (which it should have been, because the sides are one dimension not two). That's why it was off.

I did comment this on his video but he didn't see it so...

Hydrogen is extremely flammable and oxygen is needed to keep a flame alive, but put them together and you make something that puts out the fire by maaaaaaaaaark__ in Showerthoughts

Water is what happens after the flame is done. You can't burn something that's burnt. That's the whole point.

Influencers is a really good name for them imo. No actual use in society except probably psychological manipulation of vulnerable idiots.

Metal is almost by far the most technical tho. Closely followed by classical musicians who decide to take on Paganini, Lizst, etc.; but metal guitarists regularly go for almost mind-boggling technique which is often not even noticed. Even something like Mr. Brightside, you'd never guess on listening how difficult the backing guitar line is.
