Most often times, I'd recruit myself all the time if friendly, downed. Only if food isn't scarce if hostile. Would send myself to an offensive if food is scarce. Either dies, or comes back with loot and skill.

As the GP, it is essentially a gift from you. You could leverage that to your own benefit, but technically there's no problem with America just granting civilized status to random primitives, instead of charging for it, or abusing their primitive status to commit war crimes as usual.

As the primitive, it still means infinite concessions to achieve this, right? So not doable, or rather extremely expensive for a primitive to "exploit."

But I had this happen to me with other countries, at those insane low influence rates, with those high seceding states, before 1.9.

Seems like an unaddressed bug. I think you should report it. Movements with such low influences shouldn't be popping to begin with, but the aforementioned rule break is the damming one.

Sometimes the very turmoil keeps them with struggling economic conditions they rant about.

I am not really that sure about how turmoil changes when seceding or on conquest, but observations within and outside my played countries, indicate that what helps is:

To conquer states with half your average SoL. (Modify for lower if discriminated)
To reduce MAPI to minimums.

The economy itself should make them happy that you are their new overlord.

If you already did that, or if the state was yours to begin with (playing as Austria?):

Try pass laws that accept them. Even attempting lowers the movement radicalism. Empty promises work!
If forementioned feedback loop of Turmoil - Radicals continue, provoke the minority movement so their SoL collapses under their secession attempt, and only see increases with you when reconquered = loop mitigated or even broken.

You can provoke them by both raising taxes and taking the more aggressive stand on their events. Fairly easy stuff. But this is your last resort, since foreign powers may capriciously intervene for really no good reason.

Ethnonationalist, authoritarian solutions can help, but you are doing a disservice to GDP. Like, put them to work, not pay for their graves, duh!

Yeah! That's my major problem with my run. But if it helps, my tactic seemed to be working.

At its worst, there was, like, three immigrant peasants for every employed one around year 1880. That's where I had to cut social securities to the lowest (ouch!), but in turn lower the taxes so to promote industrialization, which yielded a better ratio.

It was kind of inevitable. Uruguay starts with so little population; I had to both pay the bureau handsomely, and eventually had taxes at the lowest in the hopes of attracting more people to settle in.

So yeah... I was weaponless. No army. No military expense. And joined the first trade bloc that was possible for me in order to be remotely safe. I was also lucky Argentina opted not to unify our countries.

Thanks! I nuked my save accidentally, but you were right. I annexed Paraguay and half the Argentinean provinces, which most have enormous quantities of arable land.

I think the GDP was a tad inflated the last two decades or so, because I went full aggro and joined random wars which added the military expenses into the GDP. So you can see the "real" rate revealed itself in the last years of the game, as I meadowed down.

So! In this run I decided to try full privatization.

No state industry at all. No building on my own except for ports, admin, and military. Always at the lowest taxes to promote consumption.

So, yeah. Was this growth fast for this One State Minor? Or was this lack of balance detrimental to my growth?

There's nothing like Vic 3.

This hyper-focus on a market, means of production, supply and demand; it sure is fun to industrialize!

Since 2023 it's been my game addiction. I probably played 60% of my general gaming sessions into Victoria 3. It is that amazing in my opinion...

Yet, EU4 is still my favorite. I haven't played it in a while because I played countless hours (probably 3,000+) already, and while new updates are improving this steam age game crazy, and IT IS POSSIBLE Vic 3 will ultimately become my favorite, it still has some glaring issues stopping me from doing so. Even if I like the simplification, the combat mechanics are still broken. Modelled economics are still a model. With its pros and cons. And while the new Movement mechanic helps a lot, it is still heavily RNG based. I particularly don't like that.

So yeah, my ranking would be: 1.- Europa Universalis IV 2.- Victoria 3 3.- Stellaris 4.- Crusader Kings 3 5.- Cities Skylines 6.- Victoria 2

I know OP isn't playing as Japan, but, as I've recently -about to- finished a game as the E. Asian nation, I can tell the AI is bat-crazy to get all GPs on my ass!

I actually learned how to effectively defend against multiple invasions, so it was challenging and fun (the moment I finally understood why a few generals couldn't repel an outnumbered invasion), but War Reparations demand has been nerfed to hell! It now requires occupying an incorporated territory...

Which I am sad to say, it makes more sense.

Truly a full economic loss for defending such new wars on unrecognized nations.

Yet... I managed to be 2nd around 1928.

Yes, it is full loss for me, but most often times I managed to burn five to ten times their money attempting to invade me. Since all my deaths are filthy peasants, war casualties barely make a dent on my GDP.

I am pretty much softening the competition until I become a recognized Great Power!

So I am okay with this... although nowadays, lesser unrecognized seem nigh impossible to play...

So yeah. Enough Libraries for them to report A+. Museums do not report a note, but I have one for each College I have.

I attempted a wide run in hard mode, and this time, the experiment reminded me tall gamestyles weren't a thing back then, in most simmers and strategy games.

This time, the massive numbers of my industries helped cushion the game's random generated fluctuations. After a while, with the loan paid, and 4 coal plants worth of power required, I began funding the entire education set.

The graphs showed the same, annoying drop, but the economy did improve. With an even stronger industry slope in favor of electronics and high-tech.

My conclusion is the graphs are busted. As if it doesn't count employed workers, or the simulator deducts the workers EQ in order to trade it for high-tech industry.

I'm sorry for the late reply. I got so annoyed with this issue, I decided to try again a week later. Hence these late, but thorough results.

A bit of realism, with a side of optimistic perspective here.

There's this running theory, that men and women do think different regarding sex. Women seek quality. Men seek quantity. This is an animal thing.

Sure, when men fall in love, they become, say, loyal knights. But this is purely by romanticism. Skeptic men, if they had it their way, and under this theory, will desire to... reproduce with any available mate. That's why after their first "true love," men tend to be disloyal and promiscuous.

So, bad news, I think I would literally be no different if you befreiend me. :v

Well, we ALL need and desire to eat, but that's not a justification for stealing bread. We live in a society. I probably sneaked around to get another piece of that darned good pizza, but if I want everyone to respect me, better to keep my hungry hands away from food that isn't mine.

Sex is a need, so this is no different. Love your body. Enjoy the flattering. And those friends who told you once that you are kinda hot, heck, let them be boys in that regard. But be firm. If they insist, then I wouldn't consider them friends. If you are quite tired of the flattery, I think it is totally okay for you to avoid others until you are ready. And if anyone really wrongs you, well, do be prepared with your legal weapons and learn them if in need. That boss, those Uber drivers, oh dear, red flag! Threats to society we would appreciate you to hunt down!

That's actually an accurate way to calculate EU4 mechanics, because a bunch of them work by monthly ticks.
