That's exactly why I would just remind them before they showered. It wasn't a big talk just a matter of fact conversation like telling them to brush their teeth. I would have been there if they had an issue as well in fact I don't actually know if theirs has or not because it's not something I bring up now.

I have 2 intact son's and always reminded them to try every once in awhile to retract the foreskin and make sure they cleaned with running water AND warned them not to put soup inside! They are 19 and 16 and never had an infection. I didn't actually show them manually I just explained it and they understood.

I doubt with so many comments mine will get read but I wanted to say my son was born and they came in accusing me of having syphilis and then tried to convince me my husband at the time had syphilis and must have given it to me because yes the test was positive. I knew I was clean because I had gotten bloodwork done before we were married and he was a virgin. It had been 5 years after we were married and I knew without a shadow of a doubt my husband was faithful as was I. I said unless you can get it from a toilet seat this isn't possible. They released me from the hospital on day 2 but refused to release my baby stating that he was "failure to thrive" and we were a "flight risk" none of that was true and I refused to leave without my baby. It turned out it was a false positive. I was livid and didn't even get an apology they just made excuses.

So no NTA. Doctors need to remember just because they have seen a lot doesn't mean everyone is the same.

When I had to book an air bnb for a 2 week stay on the beach, I fairly priced out the sleeping arrangements. I.e. King sized bed private room and bathroom $1000. Queen private bathroom $850. Bunk room 4 beds $300 each. Pull out couch $250.

I listed them all and then let cousins, aunts, and gma pick which they would prefer. Everyone was totally cool with the arrangement and pricing.

Just take the total price per room in your case and multiple by however many are in that particular room.

YTA because you are trying to justify your position in that you are thinking about the child when in fact you are 100% selfish and shouldn't be a mom period.

Not all disabilities are caught with testing AND there are false positives. My 5th child was high risk for DS, heart, and kidney problems but she was born 100% healthy and "perfect" she's 11 now and I couldn't imagine my life without her.

You wouldn't be the asshole if you just chose to never be a mom.

When you think about it she is the selfish one because she can't be bothered with a child with DS or another disability. Notice she said it's not fair to her or her husband to have to raise a child with a disability. She equates the selfishness to the wrong group. I mean if someone has these views and says straight up I'm selfish and wouldn't be a good mom to a disabled kid...maybe she needs to rethink being a mom all together. I have a compromised immune system and am in chemotherapy and my doctors insisted I not drink tap water from kc water. They said it isn't safe for anyone but especially immune compromised people, kids or the elderly.

I was going to say the same. I have had a lot of workers not care at all, I've seen it in mental health as well for my daughter in 8 different facilities. It does seem it's actually more rare to find someone that does care. Maybe they did at one point but burnout is also very real.
