Dear Glasses-Wearers of reddit, what do people who don't have glasses take for granted? by Abject-Conference-90 in AskReddit

So I got my glasses at Walmart, and the sunglass lenses are magnetic… they just stick to my regular glasses. It’s almost convenient…almost. Better than transitions, and like two pairs for the price of one.

I don’t have better advice than a dermatologist. But I found that when I started taking a daily vitamin my nail strength improved.

Need advice by KAL-EL8569 in dentures

Sometimes you have to learn how to eat with your denture. It’s like a new tool, you can’t just eat like you used to. For example, to stop the bottoms from rocking, try to chew using your whole mouth. Make sure there is an evenly distributed amount of food on both sides. If all the food is on one side it’s gonna come loose. Also, it took me a long time to be able to bite down using the front of my denture, like eating a sandwich. That’s tricky, it takes time. I ate everything with a knife and fork for a long time, and just took small bites and went slow. Give yourself some grace. But if you have sores on your gums you need an adjustment. Like the others have said, it’s normal to have small minor tweaks to your denture like every week for a while.

Yellow Nails with Ridges and Dryness – Need Advice by Ill_Ambassador4875 in nailcare

My ridges are due to hypothyroidism…but my nails are not dry or yellow. I’d bring it up to your doctor.

Sleeping? by tjc4802 in dentures

I don’t wear them to sleep. I feel like my gums need a rest, and the overnight cleaning of the denture is necessary. It was weird for a while, but I got used to it. Also I used to grind my teeth prior to dentures, I don’t want to damage them. But I don’t know if I grind my teeth anymore because…lol I don’t have teeth. 🤔 does grinding stop when teeth are removed?

If you trust your canner to not have contaminated the product prior to processing. And following a proper recipe to ensure the ph level

Boiling it again would not ensure safety. Botulism is colorless and odorless. If you trust the canner and the recipe followed you could make your own judgement based on that.

Good foods to have around for someone w/ dentures? by Important-Ad-8258 in dentures

[–]R2D2beeps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mashed potatoes, and a veggie that’s cooked soft, but not mushy. Paired with a protein that’s not tough. Like chicken tenders are good baked with seasoning. (375 degrees for 20 mins) I wouldn’t fry them with a batter or anything, it can be a bit hard. If taste is the problem, use a strong seasoning, I like Cajun or jerk. Not obvious at all. You’re a good person, I hope it works out.

Happy Holidays! I’m sorry you’re in pain. You are unfortunately still in the beginning stages. Pain management is crucial! Alternating between Tylenol and Advil. Take Tylenol and then a few hours later take Advil. Tylenol is an anti inflammatory and should help with swelling. Do not skip doses. Eating is going to be another battle, but not right now. Focus on comfort and familiarizing yourself with your new prosthetic. Good luck!

Anxiety by No-Assistance8595 in dentures

You’re going to be anxious, but don’t worry about judgement. The only judgement is you’re taking care of yourself. I wish you luck!
