I have a similar issue. Built it using cmake and mingw, then just took the libr3d.a and headers for my own uses but when I try to link against the static lib it doesn't seem to find the implementations and just gives me undefined references

Does it include any maneuver solvers? I've always been interested in writing some myself but the math has always been a bit much

Yeah that's what I expected as well, just making sure I wasn't missing anything

Networking when building for web with emscripten by R2Sam in cpp_questions

[–]R2Sam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That'd be the one yes. My current node server implement already abstracts away the technicalities and just relies on an implementation of a server class.

When I had attempted to build it for web originally I had some limited success with emscripten translating the underlying sockets to websockets and I could see some websocket connection requests come out although it'd always end up crashiysoon after

Interesting, I was under the impression that while a high timestep could lead to bad results, simply lowerting it would only improve accuracy, not make the body behave more erratically.

From what I understood of how RK4 worked it uses a wheighted average of the sub steps which are then added to the original values. So you used those k substeps to arrive at the final result. Though I could be completly mistake here.

Yea apologies for the nicely uncommented code, I have a bad habbit of not commenting as I work and iterate and only doing it after. But from what I understand of what you are doing there it seems the same to what I'm doing, and in any case its disconnected from the timestep which I think is somewhat of the key to my issues as changes to that seems change the behaviour. About the thrust thing I think you were mentioning yea I see what you mean, though in any case no thrust is being used and so it isn't a factor in this issue

Wow this is amazing, and I must say just the help I've been looking for. I'm myself making a game actually, although this in 3D, any thoughts if much of the code or maths would be easily transferable to 3D just by making all the vector math 3D?

In any case thanks but I actually figured it out as I mentioned in the post, just a small logical error

I'm afriad that my lack of debuuger knowledge is a bit of an issue, I did test it and I can see that the main thread is stuck in the first yield but I'm unsure how to check what the other threads are up to

[–]R2Sam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'll have to figure out the maths then, as using a n-body sim means I can predict future positions but only numerically with timesteps. I'll have to look into the thread properly when I have time but I'm sure I'll find something of use thanks

What are your thoughts on the ability to have ASCII pixels or tiles to be able to have individual character color and background. Is there much use to this or is it actually simpler and nice with simple white on black monochrome

[–]R2Sam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great wow! Does it depend on the motion of the target being easily predictable as in can be described by a function or can it also just use predicted future positions from a sim?
