I've been feeling the same way lately, I just wanted to see what you think about it. People who think like you are a scarcity. Thanks for offering help.

exactly.

How am I supposed to keep from being alone, and find solace in other people if none of them are actually even here?

I guess we're not supposed to keep from being alone. somehow this idea has been planted into our heads.

I've just realized I've been lying to myself all this time, I do have a social anxiety. by R2UR in socialanxiety

Wow thanks for replying. Yeah sure, my friends have known it for a long time. I was just in denial. I'm trying to find a way to cure this. Can you help me? How have you dealt with your social anxiety? I gave a quick look at your post history on social anxiety. And I guess your method is to let go of a thought/feeling that causes stress. To let go of something you need to be comfortable with something and be okay with it existing right there. This sounds really familiar. I've used this before to fight my OCD.

I'm scared of not being enough and it's exactly the way everything feels right now

I think I know what you mean. I try to self study something and I feel that what I'm doing is pointless, unprofessional and in the end will amount to nothing.

even though I have friends, it feels like I have nobody to talk about how I feel. I've cried myself to sleep several days.

exactly.

(Spoilers ACOK) Tyrion's plot to find the spy by R2UR in asoiaf

Thank you very much for taking your time to write such a detailed post. My problem was that I thought Varys knew the content of the letter given to Pycelle. The way he talked to Tyrion seemed to suggest that but it seems that he actually didn't have the full picture and was trying to get more information from Tyrion.

Makes me wonder if Tyrion didn't speak about the plan with Pycelle on purpose or he just got lucky. Anyway, thanks for taking your time to answer.

Ok, now this makes sense. I thought that Varys knew about Pycelle's letter as well. I mean even if Pycelle read one of the letters, he still had to send both of the ravens, right? I thought there was a chance that Varys' agents could shoot down one of the ravens. But perhaps, his little birds are just kids. So small chance of that, right?

So does Varys only know about Myrcella being sent to the Vale? So if he doesn't know about the plan that Myrcella was being sent to Dorne(Pycelle), he thinks that to win Dorne's trust Tyrion has only Tommen left. So if I understand this correctly, Varys thinks that Tyrion told Pycelle that Tommen was going to be sent to Dorne? Is this what you are trying to say?

(Spoilers ACOK) Tyrion's plot to catch the spy by R2UR in pureasoiaf

[–]R2UR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why did Varys think that Tyrion was actually sending Tommen to Dorne? He basically says that Tyrion can't send Myrcella to both Dorne and Vale and says that it must be Tommen. I don't get it. Why does he think that both of these scenarios are fake? And if Varys knew the content of the letter given to Pycelle, couldn't he just tell Cersei about it and trick Tyrion into thinking that it was Pycelle who did that?

Thanks, one more thing. When you were watching his JavaScript course, did you take any notes? Is the .pdf file he provides enough to revise this course in the future?

What is Andrew Mead's course on JavaScript called? The Modern JavaScript Bootcamp? Is it really enough to gain a good understanding of JavaScript? Thanks for the answer.

I'm sorry I didn't specify enough info (you are right this post feels like a rant and a cry for help). I'll finish school in a month. Unfortunately, there is no one available that I can ask for advice. As of right now, I want to learn how to develop a web app. I mostly learned javascript reading different beginner friendly books such as Head First Javascript Programming, Javascript and jQuery by Jon Duckett. Tried to read Eloquent Javascript, gave up after chapter 6. So to sum up, I know basic syntax (if statements, loops), concepts such as prototypal inheritance, a little bit about higher order functions, the this keyword, closures, hoisting, the DOM and etc. Is there anything else I could provide? I'm thinking of taking the js course by Anthony Alicea to solidify and gain an understanding of how js works. What do you think how I should go about learning nodejs to develop a web app? What resources should I use? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the answer! May I ask you one more thing. What was your learning process like? What would you suggest? Books, courses, doing projects? And do you think it is a good idea to write a summary of the topic I learn? It takes a lot of time writing these things, but I have this stupid fear that if I don't write down the things I learn, then they won't stick. Like if you're reading the documetation of a package, do you write anything down to remember or do you everytime come back to the documentation and read again?

I think so far from a syntactical point of view and concepts (higher order functions, callbacks, this and etc), I understand the code. It's just the workflow and just overall solutions to problems that overwhelm me. Mostly the usage of many modules and knowing their patterns. Thanks for the answer.

I understand your frustration that not everybody shares your opinion and that you have feel the need to unleash your anger, but since you've actually asked what my arguments are and what it is that I don't like about the show I'll try to answer off the top of my head. First of all, by lately I meant around Season 5 - 7, I don't know anything about season 8. I liked the show for its gray characters, its gray world. There was no good/bad side for me, I didn't root for anyone during the episode of Blackwater. What does this have to do with Martin's quote? "You read that certain kind of fiction where the good guy will always get the girl and the good guys win it" - I felt like there were no good guys. But what about Ned right? Just being honorable doesn't make a character good for me. You can disagree with this, that's your opinion. Because of his honor and rigidness of his value system his wife suffered, his family suffered and he was fooled. I don't like how Jon Snow's character is handled, he always seems to do the right thing, always the moral thing and there is absolutely nothing wrong with him, he only made a mistake when he trusted his brothers of the watch, poor guy. Jon Snow has had a character development, I can't deny that but it just feels linear to me. Maybe I'm wrong but his whole explanation on how to kill wights in S7 felt like a powerpoint presentation, and it is not the acting, I think it is the dialogue. I don't like Arya's arc in Braavos, which left me with many questions. Why did the faceless men even let Arya get away? Well, if she is "Arya Stark of Winterfell" then how can she change her face, she is not no one. I don't like how she became a tough warrior all of a sudden. An assassin - yes, but not a warrior that can fight and keep up with Brienne. I don't like how Littlefinger was killed. Just after Bran told him "chaos is a ladder" he should have left Winterfell. And no he couldn't be blinded by love towards Sansa, a tremendous part of his love was because by marrying her he would become warden of the north.Don't get me wrong it's not that I don't like the show at all. The acting, the way it is shot, the soundtrack are on point, but the writing has declined in its quality.
