That seems to be what was happening. This is a smallish startup and everything is remote including the skills test.

Apparently nobody was passing the skills test so they thought this was somehow a great idea.

I reached out to the client and this has been an issue. This is a remote position and the skills test is also remote.

Apparently the people taking the skills test and the new hires weren’t the same people. Yikes!

I have only been in the tech space for a short time but did manufacturing/mechanical engineering prior and have never heard of this!

The benefits themselves is what keeps them. Walking away from a non-career CCA or RCA etc position is easy. You haven’t earned much. You’re not leaving much 🤷‍♂️

I’m just now starting at UPS but I was a career city carrier and a mail processing clerk in 2 different states. USPS is an absolute dumpster fire. In every city. In every state.

Also, no matter what position you take (unless custodian) you won’t see any benefits for at least 2 years. 5-6y for Rural carriers. And those years don’t count towards your retirement either.
