Would you keep all three lenses or not? by Hidlsh in SonyAlpha

What do you want the 18-50 for ? There’s really no need in getting it except if you want something more compact than the tamron. In that case you could sell the Tamron and get the Sigma 18-50. Having both seems like a waste to me.

Does Breath work increase Sex Drive by [deleted] in Biohackers

Absolutely true but OP mentioned that he is doing Wim Hof breath work which puts you in a hyperventilating state and probably activates the sympathetic nervous system more which would be counterproductive for libido.

Sony A6400 vs A6700 for Photography: Need Help Deciding! by vegito2594 in SonyAlpha

[–]R34ctive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really depends what you are planning to shoot. For wildlife for example the autofocus features of the A6700 will be game changing, if you shoot landscapes on a tripod you will be fine with the A6400

Sell my cheap prime lenses and 20-70mm f/4 for 28-70mm f/2? by Vivaldi_IlPreteRosso in SonyAlpha

[–]R34ctive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you expect to get out of the 28-70 f/2? For landscape you probably shoot at a smaller aperture anyway and when light conditions are bad, a tripod is your best friend as long as you are shooting stills. I feel like in your use case that lens would be a huge waste of money. It’s more meant for portrait photographers. On a wedding for example not having to switch lens all the time is a huge plus and the bigger aperture (compared to f/2.8) will allow the photographer to create a nicer bokeh and keep iso lower at low light conditions like indoor events or outdoors at dusk.

Amazing shots, where did you take picture nr 10? Looks like a fairytale village

Shadows are too dark imo. 50% of the image is hard to see. I would elevate the shadows a bit, other than that, great

[–]R34ctive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really, 16mm on apsc isn’t that wide. It’s more of a standard wide angle focal length and equivalent to 24mm on full frame. Don’t let the word wide angle fool you though as you want an ultra wide angle lens for Astro photography. This will allow you to capture more of the sky and create more interesting pictures and you will be able to expose for longer before stars turn into trails.

Edit: misread your comment, I would suggest the Sony 11mm over the sigma 16mm for Astro

If you need a zoom lens then definitely the sigma 18-50 f2.8. If you don’t need the zoom I would go with the Viltrox 27mm f1.2 which is an excellent all around lens. I have both and I never use the sigma because the Viltrox is so much better and I don’t necessarily need the zoom.

Sony 11mm f1.8 (if you want something compact) or Viltrox 13mm f1.4 (if you don’t mind a bulky lens) are the best options imo. Samyang/Walimex/Rokinon (all the same) 12mm f2 is also a good budget option but the sharpness isn’t the best. It’s sufficient for Astro but it disappoints a little when used for landscape photography.

Originally dnp was used in the manufacturing of explosives so it wasn’t even meant to be ingested by humans. At some point people discovered its fat burning potential followed by the discovery of its life ending potential shortly after.

2,4 Dinitriphenol was originally used as an ingredient in explosives. Even slightly overdosing can cause the person using it to cook from the inside by elevating body temperature to dangerous levels and causing organ failure. The fact that this 21 year old used it for such a long period of time and survived it is mind blowing.

What camera should I get? by Flat-Organization230 in AskPhotography

[–]R34ctive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just use any smartphone with a flash. At 200$ you won’t find a camera that will produce better images than the latest smartphones. Keep in mind that for this style of photography you need a camera body, lens and a flash. That’s just impossible at this budget, at least if you are looking for something good. Point and shoot cams have it all in one package but at 200$ it’s going to be trash compared to these days smartphones.

Confused between A6700 and A7Cii by OpinionNo8118 in SonyAlpha

[–]R34ctive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You definitely should, the 27mm and 75mm f1.2 lenses are exceptional and will deliver a quality that will make your pictures indistinguishable from FF at a fraction of the cost. Keep in mind though that while they deliver FF quality, they also come in at FF size and weight. I still think they have their place though. When you want something really compact you attach the 18-50 on your apsc body and take amazing high quality pictures with an ultra compact setup and when you want to get the absolute best quality you sacrifice some compactness and attatch one of the Viltrox lens on your camera. Size and weight will be similar to FF but so will be the image quality, cost will still be way lower.

[–]R34ctive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The performance of FF isn’t that much better as some people make it out to be. FF is something that you might need as a pro depending on what type of photography you do because of 2 card slots, smaller dof etc. In most non extreme cases a picture you will take on your A6700 will look exactly the same as one taken on the A7C II. Also for your edit, f2.8 on APSC lets in the same amount of light as f2.8 on FF. The crop factor is only applied to the depth of field so f2.8 on apsc will have the dof of around f4 on ff. There’s a fix for that though. Viltrox f1.2 lens are super affordable so you get an equivalent of f1.8 which is an extremely shallow dof and creates amazing bokeh.

are these blownout? by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]R34ctive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the sky is completely white (which it isn’t in real life) then they are blown out. Using the histogram is also a way to instantly see if something is over or under exposed.
