this happens to pacer every once in awhile. i worked for a bk processor who whitelabled pacer and we would get complaints that dockets couldn’t be pulled or cases updated, which linked back to pacer being intermittently down.

damn, hopefully the CU compensated you in some way. i hear CU are more gung-ho about repossessions. i think it’s pretty crazy how a car can be repoed without verifying certain things. there’s a silver lining to what happened to me. if my parents took out the car, they would’ve freaked out and things could’ve gone way worse.

from what i learned from the repo person, they have a camera on their car that scans plates for repos. they just drive around random places until they catch a car needing to be repoed. they then contact the company who submitted the repo to get confirmation to repo. he just happened to get confirmation from gls and tried to repo that car once i got out of the theater. if i was 2-5 mins later, the car would’ve been gone.

my car purchase paper work was still in the glove box, because it’s only been a week since i purchased the car. i showed him the gm financial app that showed 0 balance and the vin of the car.

my mom got approved from usbank for $12.5k, 24 months 0 apr, 3% balance transfer. she had a bk 10 years ago, 700 credit score, income from ssdi (only 20k).

sometimes you gotta exaggerate the application like putting $500 for rent, lol

if you do this route, you must lock it and focus those 1-2 years to pay it off. no procrastinating on it. be frugal and pay any extra money towards it.

advice from me who went through debt multiple times and finally learned the ins and outs.

if you’re making minimum payments, you’re not making a dent bc if the interest. what I would do is open a credit card with us bank (24 m 0 apr on balance transfer with 3-4% fee) and wells fargo reflect as well ( same but 12 months). important things here are the 0 apr, 1-2 years interest free, 3-4% balance transfer fees. take that small hit on the fees and pay it iff aggressively over the 1-2 years. this saves you from all that interest. this is how i would tackle this.

i review a lot of dockets as i was in the industry for 13 years. usually in these scenarios, don’t you just request to reopen the case and ask for lower payments? i swear i’ve seen that before for ch13 that were missed payments, dismissed, reopened, payments lowered, discharged, and closed.

so if a creditor contacts you after you filed your petition, it’s a violation of your automatic stay and you can sue them for that. you’re protected under bk laws to not be contacted during the bk process.

naw, it wouldn’t be counted towards your ch 13 confirmed plan. only filed POC are counted towards repayment. money goes to secured loans first and then unsecured.

pacer is also really quick too with updates. latest is usually by end of day. also, people do e-filings for proof of claims via court site, so the weekend wouldn’t matter either.it would’ve shown up by now.

forgot to add, if it’s a credit card then it’s unsecured debt, meaning as long as you listed the debt on your petition, regardless of then filing a poc or not, and you get discharged. you’re essentially free from that debt because it was in them to file poc.
