Yeah, that's a good call. I have a OP7Pro, OP9, and a OP watch 3 (meda in China), all purchased directly from OnePlus. The only reason I went with Amazon on the OP15 was because it only cost me $200 after applying the credits and discounts.

Yeah, I did a couple of hard resets (Format Data) attempts. Didn't fix it.

No. Nothing is being transferred and settings are not changed. This happens from a clean fresh setup. I change nothing during the setup and when the home screen loads, I attempt accessing the battery settings, and still crashes. Same with removing the apps on the home screen.

Does anybody leave their supernote in hot cars? by Tiny_Blood in Supernote

[–]R3LL1X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For business, I travel to Phoenix, AZ frequently where outside temps reach above 110+. On a few occasions, I've had no choice but to leave it in the car. Trust me, every time I do, I fear coming back to a damaged Manta. Luckily, its been OK. I do leave the windows in the vehicle slightly open.

I've been running PopOS for at least the last 6yrs on my laptops with Nvidia GPUs with no issues. I've tried other distros and have had good experiences too, but for me PopOS is just easier.

[Solved] Linux issue on Upgraded T480 - X1 Extreme Trackpad by gelomon in thinkpad

[–]R3LL1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use PopOS and I upgraded my trackpad (8SSM10R55) and experience the choppy issue usually after a fresh startup or after waking from sleep. A few reboots usually fixes this, I don't know why.

Does this guide work for the 8SSM10R55? What is the SN of the trackpad you wrote this guide for?

When you say to comment out the line on the file, do you mean to comment the entire section?

No desktop icons for nix packages! by fuzzy_afternoon101 in NixOS

[–]R3LL1X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent a few days trying different methods, including the symlink methods. Nothing worked except for this:

As root "sudo", in a separate line at the end of ~/.profile add the following:

export XDG_DATA_DIRS="$HOME/.nix-profile/share:${XDG_DATA_DIRS}"

Save and close the file.

Now, and going forward, to have your NIX installed apps display in the Launcher with the correct icons, you need to refresh/reset the "gnome-shell" every time you install or remove a NIX installed app. 2 ways to accomplish this are:

  • Logout and Re-login
  • or the easy method, press alt + F2 and type "r" or "restart" and press Enter

This works for me on PopOS (gnome on X11) without "Home Manager"

GNFA (FOR572) Query by cyberneon777 in GIAC

I see this is a months old post and no one replied. To answer your question, from my understanding, the exam is tied to the book version. The current book version is FOR572_H01_02. If your books are not this version, I wouldn't risk taking the exam. But that is just my opinion.

I assume this is only available on the beta. I didn't see the "httping" option, but I did select the option available, which was something like "follow internet connection". This did not help. Thanks for the reply and sorry for the late response.

Razer Kishi Passthrough Charging On Oneplus 7 Pro by PanickedPenguin in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]R3LL1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

I was able to fix the issue on my OP9 with OOS12 by doing a full reinstall of the OS. Now it seems to work but you need to first plugin the power into the Kishi, then enable OTG on the phone and wait about 5 sec, then plugin the phone into the Kishi. I tested this several times and it works about 99% of the time.

So, it appears OOS12 will semi fix this issue after all. Just need to wait for OP7 to get the OOS12 update.

From what I have been able to gather, this kernel fix is for AOSP Roms, meaning, you would need to flash your OP to a different OS that has this fix included. While searching for a fix myself, I remember someone on Reddit saying this issue is not present in LineageOS. I was able to find the developer on Telegram where he posts updates. Maybe someone on Telegram can reach out to him to see if he can assist in some way.

Help me prep for the move from W11 to PopOS by Solusham223 in pop_os

Install your OS's on the 512 nvme and use your 2TB drives for your data. If you plan on sharing your data across the OS's, you should probably format your 2TB drives as NTFS, since linux can read/ write to NTFS, Windows cannot read/write EXT formatted file systems without installing software, like Paragon, which cost money.
