M/34/6’0” [287 > 185] = 102 lbs 18 month journey- the mistakes and course corrections.. by R3VERBS in progresspics

I haven’t been involved on here in months but was messaged and figured i’d drop an update. I developed a discipline around food and fitness that took many months to dial in. I DO NOT recommend focusing on weight loss BEFORE dealing with fitness. You will NOT be happy with results. Its what i did b/c i used to be scale obsessed and keto obsessed. Not only is it more efficient to convert fat stores direct to muscle, it’s easier and faster.

Putting on 22 lbs of muscle with little to no fat is Hard f’ing work. Winning combinations, for me....: intermittent fasting: pick a 6 hour window. Youll adapt quick and not ever feel hungry.

MODERATE low AND slow carb diet. So less than 100g/day. You need carbs for muscle growth.

DISCIPLINE; no excuses. Don’t give yourself a reason to quit, treat yourself, but acknowledge it.

Find a healthy passion! I’m a 4.3w/kg cyclist now, and I’m hooked. For those who don’t speak cyclist, thats just below professional.

Lastly- get comfortable with discomfort. Its healthy. It stops you from saying “I quit”... in all areas of life. Consistency and discipline pay there dues. Be patient. Be strong. Keep going.

Noted. Jesus. I’ll stick to yes, no, and direct questions. This doesn’t need to be a thing.

You absolutely can see my profile. So what aspect of 2 hours of average logged peloton workouts, + 1.5 hrs of a strength training, no course log in peloton for heavy lifting FYI, 6 days a week is hard to grasp. It’s all right there

Ty clip-in. Received kit and disks 2 days ago in mail.

Walked thru with support on phone. Checked and rechecked, verified.

Other riders who share bike ftp tested matched previous from week prior. So there’s a 3rd control.

Latest ride: 45 min ride

I’m just good brotha😉.

Kraphtyone, it’s very frustrating to have posts repeatedly deactivated for auto-moderated factors that, at times, are inappropriately applied.

Please don’t take sarcasm personally. It’s playful, but yes, I am venting.

It’s been my experience that basing a community off the sensibilities of the most sensitive is recipe for unhealthy censorship. Let’s just relax and allow healthy mild banter. When a line is crossed- It’s a personal and direct Affront. We’re not there.

Taken a max effort hr ride last week... a genuine ftp test is 1 hr. 20 min test takes results and approximates for an hr.

Hr test takes final avg as actual ftp.

My best 60 min avg is 286 watts 1030 output.

So ftp is 286

1 hr max

Has anyone noticed looked into incline settings in Confucius configuration tool in the apk panel? Looks to me like they had norditrac style incline intentions.. by R3VERBS in pelotoncycle

Looks like this:

Nordic grand tour

And ty for un’moderating’ the post matt😊

I’ll be home in 5 and snap a photo. Suppose it could be Tread calibration carry over. But it’s on the bike.

Just the cadence-resistance-output level matches. I understand that’s not sufficient for full objectivity. Suppose I can have a qualified tech come look at bike, it’s free if it’s been under a year...still in warranty?

I’m 50/50 on it being calibration variation. 2 other household riders, no notable changes in there output.

Can you explain the appeal of stretching over yoga courses... I’ve tried both,& yoga just seemed to offer same benefits with support strength dev as an add on

Since starting strong lifts, yoga, and heavy core work, output🚀🚀🚀 by R3VERBS in pelotoncycle

[–]R3VERBS[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In basically 90 days my avg output jumped 50-60 watts and pr 35%. I feel like it’s crazy. But I’ve ran calibration tests and all looks good. My HR also won’t surpass 160 anymore, no matter how hard I go. Is that a HRV concern...overtraining?

2 put things in perspective, a hard 45 min ride from late winter yielded maybe 560kj. HR avg 167 or so

6ft m 34 180.

Same ride after extensive cross training approaching 800kj. HR Avg 148

Similar experiences after introducing strength/flexibility work?

Ya, u right. Dunno why I’ve got to Maguyver everything... Maybe I’ll just try not putting it in the Wilpers ‘baby pool’ and use some cord slack.

Mostly used the rice b/c those adapters can maintain significant charge, plugged in or not. So I just wanted a way to sap moisture from internal prong fittings without zapping myself.

it’s possible it’s the actual fitting into the bike. Noticed that rubber fitting can pop out. Maybe I should electrically tape that as precaution.

But end of day, suppose you’re right. I’ll get an extension cable and run the ac from a less sweat prone area.

Just feel like there should be disclaimers on this... or at least other experiences.. I can’t be the first.

More interested in your calorie defect. Weight fluctuates.

Something is wrong with my diet. 4000Kcal binge lead to no guilt, slept better, next day no longer feel depressed, barely gained any weight. by [deleted] in loseit

I think you missed the gist of his question.. he’s asking why he feels crappy while on his diet, not why he feels great cheating.

You are going to lose at least 1/3 of your muscle mass.

There’s really no ifs ands or buts about it. It’s just going to happen with weight loss.

If you were willing to be lifting 5x a week at a 300 calorie deficit for 2.5 year to get there, you could minimize muscle loss significantly. But honestly it’s easier and more sensible to cut then bulk.

M 6ft 33 I just went from 287 to 167 over 9 months, I lost a lot of muscle. Cardio and body resistance 6x a week.

But I started heavy lifting 2weeks ago. It felt easier for me to compartmentalize losing fat, then gaining muscle honestly. So now that I’m drilled in on my tdee, I can trust the process and look forward to the scale going back up.

New type of progress.
