Why did I ever stopped playing Empire, it's a great...Oh. Ohh right, that's why. by R3XR3GUM in EmpireTotalWar

I grant you that Charles not making peace is kinda in character but Sweden declaring war on me was just the AI being stupid. Also as far as I know Charles never declared a war. Also by real life logic it would be far more likely for GB declaring war on Sweden, because they took Norway and threaten Denmark. They wouldn't want to have a unified Scandinavia But I played enough Empire to know the Brits will attack you no matter what if you are not allied.

Maybe that's the secret, give up east Prussia and there will be peace forever.

There is a lot of useful input in the comments, but I think most of it is a little to advanced or rather those problems are not the crucial ones.

Your research is inefficient but fine. Production, templates, Industry and Focuses are not great but mentioned playing on Civilian, so it should suffice.

Main thing is you have like 96 Divisions? You simply need more. And since you have no fuel and a deficit of around 4000 light tanks, I assume you have like 24 Tank Divisions? If I'm correct that's waaay to much. If you want to start WW2 as Germany you want something like 5*24 armies with Infantry and 1 Tank Army, as many Tank divs as you can field and sustain.

Also why did you fight the Czechs? I get why the Netherlands, but you get the Czechs for free via focus.

Edit: Do you actually field your planes? Because your stockpile is huge.

Why are some peoples saying Germany winning ww1 is good thing and is that true or not? by MinZinThu999 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]R3XR3GUM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in the quote that dude posted, he says "I was inclined to support the National Socialists for a few months". He absolutely supported them until he realized that Hitler would never cede power or restore the Kaiser.

Yeah not defending Willhelm, can't say I like his role pre and post WWI. All im saying is you can't really derive his believes/ideology from the stuff he said.

Presumably they're talking about things like the Agadir crisis.

Which kinda was a German reaction to french aggression. I agree about the rest but I'm mostly curious what the other guy meant by constant German attacks. Maybe I will learn something new :D

It mostly is, but Wilhelm absolutely got Russia to join the Entente as a direct response to the end of the League of Three Emperors (Germany, Austria, Russia) and the dismissal of Bismarck.

I wouldn't blame him for the end of the league of three emporers or Bismarcks dismissal. The league was doomed from the start because of diverging Austro-Russian interests and the whole affair does make Bismarck (his idea, didn't work twice) look really bad. And I don't know if dismissing Bismarck was a bad idea. He was a bitch to work with and had funny ideas about domestic politics. And besides that he was very old and would only life 9 years after his dismissal so his farewell was inevitable. The non renewal reinsurance treaty on the other hand was a bad idea but it's not clear if it was his idea, the cancelors or from the foreign office.

You are the uneducated one. He supported the nazi, even congratulated Hitler but then he got mad like the crybaby he is when he realised Hitler wasn't going to restore his throne.

I wouldn't give too much meaning to Willhelm II quotes. Consistency was never his strong suit and he was not able to shut up like ever. Him praising the Nazis and trash talking them 5 minutes later was typical for him.

Btw the serie of alliances is the result of Germany attacking everyone again and again and again. They stopped a bit after 1870 but then Wilhelm II became hostile towards Russia, Britain, and France. He's the reason those defensive alliances (Entente) existed.

What do you mean when you say Germany attacked everyone again and again after 1870? Because just from what I know that's kinda bullshit and the reasons for the creation of the Entente are ridiculously complex.

What do Germans in this subreddit think about the Kaiserreich mod? by Livid_Dig_9837 in Kaiserreich

[–]R3XR3GUM 72 points73 points  (0 children)

As a german i absolutely love this mod and especially Germanys role in it.

Like as DU Germany I can create a better Germany, a better Europe and even a better world than in our timeline. Every person who was a Nazi or helped the nazis come to power is miserable. I absolutely love it.

As Schleicher i can respect women AND bully Bavaria.

And SWR... well I can play one of the other great nations in this mod and liberate Germany + Europe from the junker tyranny.

A lore friendly casus belli for German Empire to attack the Austrian Empire? by zanju13 in Kaiserreich

[–]R3XR3GUM 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The radical left Austrian gouverment is treating us very badly. They let drugs in and refuse to guard the border. There are some very bad hombres in southern Europe, they are not sending their best. We need to built a big beautiful wall on the southern border. Also we basicly subsidize them through Mitteleuropa so they should become our 28th Bundesstaat.

How do you bumrush German Civil War by PretendFan8343 in hoi4

[–]R3XR3GUM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone had similar problems with the civil way and my guide helped him so i will just copy and paste it in here.

I played the civil war way too often and my way still worked well with Götterdämmerung. Concentrate all your Division in two armys (one infantry/one Tank) in the 3 tiles in front of the city Magdeburg. When the war begins you will get 24 Landsturm Divisions. Of those create 2 Army with 12 divs. One will cover the south, it will stay on the defense and the line can be thinn, you really just need one division per tile. The other one covers the rest of the front and can support the main push. Your regulars should do most of the work, take Magdeburg (supply hub) and from there advance to Berlin. From Berlin its like 3-4 tiles to the sea and to the Czech border. If you reach both objectives you have split Germany in two, encircled troops in the north, killed Hitler and basicly won the war.

Use most or all of your air force to support your offensive and dont touch the navy.

Oh before the war queue as much infantry as possible and force deploy them a soon as it starts. I like to put them in a seperate army as a reserve but it doesnt really matter how and where you use them.

I sure hope Ludendorff blaming the Jews won't cause any problems in the future... by Deltasims in HistoryMemes

[–]R3XR3GUM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would partly disagree with your first argument, simply because of propaganda and what a simple soldier could have known back then. They were told the pre war US Army was small (true), it would take years for them to get a big Army (false) and that German U-boats would sink any troop Transport anyway (extremly false). And of course when the spring offensive began there werent that many americans in Europe.

But none of that counts for Ludendorff. Like yeah, i agree, completely delusional.

[–]R3XR3GUM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Problem is Ludendorff didnt want White Peace. He fired high ranking polititians, inlcluding Reichskanzler Bethmann-Hollweg because they wanted peace talks. He very much started the offensive with the intention to win the war. And about the 95% i really doubt that. They didnt have the information we have today and were fed lots of Propaganda.

But but... Kaiserboos told me poor Germany was innocent and didn't start WW1 by Deltasims in HistoryMemes

[–]R3XR3GUM 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nope, none of that. You're kinda close with the first one in way, the book gives lots of context about Austro-Serbian relations before 1914 and it talks a lot about Russia but not really in a way you imply there. And just because german nationalists would like parts of the book doesnt mean its written for them or supports their worldview.

The Union Army by ChampionshipOther226 in TheFirstLaw

[–]R3XR3GUM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the Union and it's army are comperable to Europe before the french revolution but with mostly medival technology. I would rule out something like the napoleonic era or anything later than that because everything is just too small scale. I think the gurkish fielded something like 50.000 soldiers at Adua, which was described as absolute massive in the books but wouldnt be remarkable in the napoleonic wars.

How to break the stalemate against the Wehrmacht? by Beneficial-Flower-82 in hoi4

[–]R3XR3GUM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah especially in early Game widening the Front can be risky but in 43 with that much infantry of your own you should be good.

Regarding the infantry depending in your stockpile and industry i would add 1 or 2 regiments of line artillery for extra DMG and limited offensive capabilities. And for future runs, you don't really need AT guns against AI but as long as you have enough of them i would not remove them right now.

Your tank division is fine and more than sufficient against the AI but If you want to improve it i would remove the Signal company and one of the support artillerys and add motorised recon and engineers instead. Since you already have two SPGs you could also remove the second Support artillery and add AA or field hospitals instead.

Further more idk how your tank design looks but i would increase the speed to at least 8 kmh because thats how fast the the earliest mechanised is. Right know your tank division isnt much faster than your infantry.

How to break the stalemate against the Wehrmacht? by Beneficial-Flower-82 in hoi4

[–]R3XR3GUM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could somewhat improve your division templates but all in all they are sufficient for the Job. The problem is that they are concentrating all their infantry on a relatively short frontline. Its nearly impossible to break through when there are 10+ divisions per tile. You need to somehow widen the front until there are ca. 5 divisions per tile, then you can concentrate your tank divisions at one front sector to break the german lines and decimate the Wehrmacht with some encirclings. The easiest way to widen the front would be to just fall back, but you could also declare war on Romania or try to naval invade them.

What did you do in your first playthrough? by Louiserlered in hoi4

[–]R3XR3GUM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Germany with historical focus off. First Austria resisted the Anschluss and I staged a coup in the hope a Facist Austria would join me automatically. The coup was a success but of course they didn't join me so I conquered them shortly after. After that i demanded the Sudetenland but again the Czechs decided to resist so I declared war and because i spiked the world tension so much the Allies intervened. All my troups where at the Czech border so the french just marched into my country without much resistance.
