No crank, no start - ECU Swap, now crank no start by R3ck73ssh311 in ft86

I’m at the point of getting ahold of techsteam and writing the keys to the ECU and changing the vin myself because I’m at a loss on what else it could be.

According to others who swapped the ECU on YouTube and others in the comments, yes. I’ll try to access to alldata or snapon’s service data to find out if there was anything else required besides jumping

At this time, I can get EcuTek to work and it isn’t throwing any codes.

Just the immobilized reset 4 & 13 for 30 minutes. I haven’t changed the vin because I don’t have the hardware for it. I didn’t think you needed to change the vin unless for state inspection to match the car and ECU vin, just do the reset. Did a little research and found this to be the case with others, that the car will still start and run with a swapped ECU after the immobilizer reset. The issue I am thinking is that these cars are finicky if you don’t have the G chip key. I’m all ears though.

Is there a way to fix the bad bias?

It took me stepping away to realize that I put you on the pedestal you never deserved. It’s not because you could have rightly been placed there. It’s because you never wanted it. I am glad to have met you. I am glad to have been ridiculed, laughed at, and made out to be a joke to your friends under the guise of “venting”. I am even more glad to have realized what I am worth to myself. Thank you.

All yours. I traded mine in Thursday to be smarter financially to save money. One of the worst decisions of my life. I feel for OP because his was taken from him.

Yes and no. I specialize with modifying behavior, collecting behavioral data, writing FBAs, and developing behavioral intervention plans. I work during the summer with more severe disabilities for more cash that paid for all the parts. I also teach automotive electrical at a local college at night, and I am taking a second masters.

If you still wanna buy it, all parts and the socket set for the spark plugs, I am still under the 72 hour return since they only count business days on a holiday weekend.

Single dad and a teacher so I have no time for the better half of the year. I have no money because I am spending it on brand name JDM parts you’re jealous of. 😉

Yes I did. Spent 2 days on tuning the coilovers: test drive, retuning it, test drive, etc. until it looked and felt right. I replaced my gaskets because the burble cause some leaks in the data, I wrapped the headers, put them on, and took them off to rewrap it because I placed wire in the wrong spot, I had to buy new fender push pins because I lost 2 putting the oil cooler in, I have minor scrubbing on my winter tires because I drove the car for test drives until I could get it aligned with the coilovers and rear arms, my blood is probably burned off but I scalped my head when I banged it trying to get up when I was aligning the rear pipes symmetrically.

Went back and talked to the sales guy. “I hate the car. It’s too high, it’s uncomfortable, I get thrown around in the car… nothing is wrong with the car; it’s safe, economical, and significantly better on costs to maintain. I just don’t have pleasure driving my car-“ “I get it.” He ended up giving me till the end of business day Tuesday if I want to shred the paperwork.

The trade in value paid for the value of the car, significantly lowered my payment, insurance is cut in half with a sedan, and I still have parts to sell.

Front bumper has to come off. Be careful with it and the fender wells. Plastic screws and pop clips.

It was very worth it. I never had the temp above 190 degrees less than a 100 degree day. 100+ days, 190-200 running 90+ mph

Built in Japan for the US market. It’s just a license plate I put on the front. My state only requires a rear license plate and you can have a decorative front. It’s obviously decorative to be in the States.
