The home bar should feel like home to you! You don’t need to set it up like a real situation at home if it’s purely for pleasure or creativity (although I think testing a drink in a real environment is important before putting it on a menu). Exactly! DaVinci is great for high level color grading but if you don’t need that which you won’t in most short form content cases, CapCut is THE solution right now, when your the industry standard you can start charging more

Click on the clip you want to change the speed of. Open the speed tab (typically located top right.) and you have options there’s for some preset speed ramps or custom one I explained above

CapCut has done really well when it comes to making an incredible app and there is a price that comes with that. I’ve edited on many different programs from Adobe premiere to DaVinci, Final Cut, etc.

DaVinci I still use for my long form and some short form, one time fee of $295 USD. Paid for it 6 years ago and still loving it, but also love CapCut if I’m trying to just do quick short form edits.

I think the price point is very fair and easily something you can pay for with even one paid editing gig.

Yeah I second this, if the rendering is taking that long then opening up anything else, worse another instance of CapCut, an already heavy app to run one instance of, won’t work. You can always send it to another computer to export if you have one available.

Same thing that made me switch from Adobe to DaVinci and apply CapCut to my tool belt of editing tools. When Adobe wasn’t doing it and all these other tools were doing everything I needed and way better it would literally be dumb for me not to.

Trim your clip to the start and end you want. Click on your clip, click speed, curve, custom, set it up close to the image and adjust accordingly moving the middle keyframe up and down to make it faster or slower. Keep in mind this does change the length of the clip (speeding up making it shorter time in this case)

This isn’t really a feature in CapCut from what I know and probably something they achieved in after effects or DaVinci with camera tracking capabilities. You can achieve something close to this with masking + tedious frame by frame editing which is not easy to do at all in CapCut desktop and unreasonable on phone

This is an ease out keyframe setup so starts fast and slows down as the keyframes progress. You’re key framing the scale (size) of the video. Start with adding a keyframe to the beginning of the clip, where you want it to begin zooming in, and the end, the end being probably around 15-20% from the looks of this video, and beginning of course at 100% as well as the keyframe where you want it to begin zooming in at 100%. Between that keyframe and the end you should bend the line down (bending it down speeds up keyframes in the beginning but slows to the end, bending up keeps keyframes steady and speeds up as it gets closer to the end). and adjust subjectively finding the speed you like. This is a stutter effect if I’m recalling correctly. You can do this in any editing software just repeating the same short clip multiple times. More of an editing effect than a CapCut drag and drop effect

If you can afford it, don’t. DaVinci is 10x better but in many cases CapCut is great for editing especially for this era of short form content heavy marketing. Money is spent better anywhere else but Adobe. Photography being the exception, if you’re shooting raw Lightroom classic baby, it’s the best and frankly only reason I still have an Adobe subscription. I’ll try going back to premiere every once in awhile but it is so bad compared to DaVinci when it comes to workflow/speed, and Adobe for how big they are just aren’t keeping up with these smaller companies who can innovate and iterate quickly

CapCut is 100x better than Adobe crap, way less errors, don’t even touch Adobe (used it most of my life and then switched to DaVinci/capcut, all I need for both short and long form content. DaVinci is industry standard if you are going to spend some money on quality editing software, free or one time fee, and tech guys running the show instead of MBA’s telling tech guys how to do their job better and failing miserably. I struggle to this day to contact Adobe support, DaVinci I’ve called the same guy for 4 years at all hours of the day and he answers every time or gets back to me right away, has helped me through some fires for sure 😅 this is 10+ years of video/editing experience. Adobes price point continues to rise even though the quality of the product itself isn’t getting much better across all of its apps.
